Cocoa business is not for the weak... New comers loose money like anything. If you don't have someone to hold you by hand please, don't venture into cocoa
Could you please explain why newcomers lose money like anything? What are some of the causes?

Thanks.

OP, I will be honest with you. In this present economy, N7 million is not enough to migrate anywhere outside of Africa. It's just enough to travel abroad for a vacation. I would have suggested that you use the Canadian express entry program which is a quick pathway to Canadian citizenship but you don't have the required work experience, skills or qualifications to be eligible for that program. Sociology is a useless course. Let no one tell you otherwise. I am an Immigration lawyer so i know what i'm saying. If your skills/ degree isn't STEM related, it would be difficult for you to Japa abroad. Your best bet is to look for tuition free universities in Europe, improve your skills then move there with the long-term goal of migrating to a "better" country. Otherwise, use that money to improve yourself in Nigeria. JAPA is not for the faint-hearted. My two cents.

Japa is expensive, but if you can save the money and convert it to dollar in a dom so it won'tlose value, and then try and hustle more. Good luck.

But honestly if I have like 10million I will look into importing electronics phone chargers with my logo with a all ed documents needed by the government. As in, I will swim into that field.
What difference does that make from others who sell regular chargers? And how is the market demand for chargers? What kind of chargers?

Thanks.

Bros no vex..
So 2.5 m then I can come over there.
Will it take care of my rent and feeding till I get work

Getting a job that will pay you the way you want is scarce here, teaching jobs are readily available tho . They pay teachers better in the Gambia compared to Nigeria..
then again most companies do internship here with almost 100% assurance u will be retained , think about a business just in case u get here and u are unable to get a job .

United Nations are looking for Masters Degree holders in Sociology. So, your advice is not valid.
Croatia and Australia needs candidates with sociology degree because social works thrives in their country. A friend migrated to Australia recently and he is happy in the country.

You don't need up to N7million to go there.
I'm pretty sure they're not looking for more immigrants rn

most countries are looking for people in STEM not sociology. And yes its currently a useless course unless you acquire extra skills. For the japa there is no viable pathway for you right now. Develop your skills along what is sellable now or in the future abroad
what about pharmacy

With N7 million Naira, here are some migration or investment options you can explore:

Education Pathway
Canada: Apply for a postgraduate diploma or certificate program, which is more affordable than a degree. Many schools offer programs between CAD 10,000 and CAD 15,000 (about N6 million to N9 million). After completing your studies, you can apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
United Kingdom: Use N7 million to enroll in a one-year master's program or a short professional course. Look for universities with flexible payment plans.
: If you meet the requirements, you can apply to tuition-free universities and use the funds for living expenses. Proof of financial stability (around €11,000) is often required for a visa.

Work-Based Migration

Poland or Czech Republic: Skilled trades or logistics jobs in Europe often have lower entry requirements. You’ll need to budget for visa applications and initial costs.
Business Startups in Migration-Friendly Countries
Rwanda or Ghana: N7 million can establish a small-scale business in these countries, offering investor visa options and lower barriers to entry.
Caribbean Countries: Countries like St. Lucia or Dominica offer residency through investments, though this might require additional funds.
Alternative Investments
If immediate migration isn't viable:

Education Investment in Nigeria: Use the funds for a high-demand certification (e.g., tech, project management, or logistics).
Business Ventures: Start a scalable business locally and use the earnings to pursue migration later.
$10k CAD =$7k USD= N11.6m. His budget =7m. Adviser think again😂😂😂

7 million can take you to a good European country if u have a good and honest agent but most people here discouraging you are either jealous of your 7 million and the move you are about to make or could be parochial in their reasoning. make more research about this. go to youtube and see for yourself.

Every business has a learning curve.

If you are entering into a business without experience in that business, as a Nigerian matter, your employees will rip you off.

It does not matter what the business is, you will be ripped off. You have to literally be on ground. It is very unlikely that you can work on trust

A common complaint of farmers everywhere is theft from workers. And if they see you as a soft touch, then it can get really ugly.

The average Nigerian immigrant seeks economic prosperity, not necessarily well-being. Let's not lie about why most people japa. A Nigerian is FAR better off in the US than Finland or Austria.

You have no clue about what you are talking about. Do you make 100k a year in America?

If your port is 10yrs or older, buzz me for North America with less than N5M. tiktokstoday4ever

I have never been the enthusiastic type when it comes to Japa, but the realities on ground in the country leaves one with little or no choice to look elsewhere for greener pastures. I have about 7m worth of landed properties, and I want to do away with it and relocate before this country leaves me with nothing at all. I graduated with a 2:1 from a federal university.

Which country affords a better opportunity for someone looking for an MSc, putting all circumstances into perspective?

The average Nigerian migrant in the US has GREATER CHANCES to earn 100K in the US than in Finland or Austria. These are non-English speaking countries with extremely FEW blacks in the general society, let alone the organised labour market. So, why should they be suggested over the US with an extremely diverse economy and greater participation of black people? Nigerians in the US are the wealthiest set of diasporans. How can someone mention Finland and Austria to Nigerians as places to migrate to over the US? and Switzerland, I can understand. Austria and Finland over the US? Tufia!

How many Nigerians in Finland and Austria do you know or have you read that are doing well as career persons or entrepreneurs?

Honestly, I cannot believe I am debating the superiority of the US for relocation for Nigerians because of Finland and Austria. See, some countries are only good for the natives, and no one else. Finland and Austria fit the bill.

Doing business in Nigeria is an extreme sport. Kudos to the likes of Olam, STARLINK and Olatunde. How they do it, I don't know. But kudos nevertheless.

Some of you comment stupidly and very idiotic. I see it as envy as many of you do not have the means, and cannot afford till death, what the Op has.
He came here seeking for opinion, which is not out of place in a public forum like this but most of you are bitter and envious, hence making a mockery and foolish comments.
Envy keh? You're the one that is stvpid and foolish. If you had been online regularly, you'd see warnings against such ideas of selling your properties and inheritance just for some unsure and ambiguous future that may sometimes be at best, a fantasy.

Someone said he wants to move away desperately even if it is BOTSWANA and you think such person is someone you can advise?

Many like him have made such moves going through places like LIBYA, BURKINA FASO etc. Or wasting money with them like his 7 million property and ended up in cruel Middle East countries all in the name of being desperate to japa.

We see these in the news every now and then, it happens to them even after they had been advised to desist. And such news won't be the last.

When kasala burst, shey life no go teach dem sense ni? Bitter sense and lesson sef.
Àbí you think say na only soft spoken words dey make people listen to advice?

Guy, face your front, and if you ain't satisfied, carry your own properties go sell and japa.

God speed and best of luck!

A social worker. I am still looking to venture into IT though
If you're not that good in IT, leave that.

Social work is very lucrative as the social services industry there is really big.

You can start exploring scholarship options for your MSc in social work.

The majority of Nigerian migrants seek economic prosperity. Quality of life isn't on the list. When migrants move into a place, what they seek are jobs - so they earn an income - and later career opportunities to build on their skill set and increase their income. Quality of life isn't a priority.

I have no business with Austrians having a superior quality of life compared to Americans. I am concerned with Nigerians heading out of Nigeria in search of a better life aka economic prosperity.

Stay and invest in viable business in Nigeria
Abuloma80(f): 6:47pm On Jan 16
He can go any of Eastern, Western, Southern and Northern African Countries. Because that's the only places he can afford with that amount.

I guess he is contemplating the Western World (USA, Canada etc) or Eastern World (UAE-Dubai, Japan, China etc). For these Countries it's not possible. What he has is just for One way Air-ticket. Where would he live and eat?

He should remain in Nigeria and invest his money wisely. For example he can invest in farm produce (Maize, Soya, Pepper, Beans etc. He will buy these and wait till May-July and resell his goods. I assure him at least a 30% profit. So in just 3 months he will be talking of having (N7m + N2.8m) = N9.8 million. Alternatively he can go into real farming which will give him at least 100% just in 5 months. With all honesty l am giving him these advices out personal practical experience. He may even get a 130% profit if can keep his produced till May-June or July and sell. So his N7 will become (N7m + N9m) = N16 million within a year. So what Japa will need? None. Nigeria is indeed blessed by enabling him get! Do any of the options and THANK ME LATER.
