This can also be checked via the NIMC app. Just click on 'Linked Numbers'., Select anyone you do not recognize, or are no longer using to report it. Then choose the reason. It will be reported and "reported" indication displayed next to it. It should drop off eventually I guess. For now, the one I reported 2 days ago has not dropped off.

So the police would just nab you, toture you and probably imprison you simply because your NIN was linked to a phone number that was used by robbers or kidnappers?

They won't carry out any investigation to prove that you're part of the robbery or kidnapping gang. Rather they would torture you and force you to confess to something you know nothing of?

God why did you make me a Nigerian?

You make me laugh with this comment 🤣😅🤣 I pray anyone don't fall within the 9ja police problem na from your house dey go begin dey torture you till station with no questioning

This is a more accurate way. Get the NIMC app.

Dear all,

Dial *996# and follow the prompts to check numbers linked to your NIN.

Any strange number should be reported to the bank, your network provider and police ASAP.

I just checked my 2 lines....sadly I am impacted.

I will Just run it by MTN only for now as I don't have time for police wahala.

imagine if your NIN is linked to a robbery, police would grab you and the other two phone numbers, act now to avoid wahala tommorow
NIN is suppose to be private. How can people link their phone numbers to your NIN if NIMC isn't complicit. 🤦

i have four numbers ed to my NIN, three are mine, personal line, business line and wifi. The forth one is not mine, even truecaller brings up a funny name against the number. When it rings, someone else answers it.

For those who don't know before, use this information before it's too late.

For those who knew this before, a reminder is necessary.

Be guided.
