Nollywood sensation Funke Akindele has once again made history, with her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, becoming the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The movie, which went head-to-head with Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee and other notable films, has achieved an extraordinary feat. FilmOne, the distributor of the film, took to Instagram to announce the milestone, drawing widespread acclaim for Akindele.

“Everybody Loves Jenifa has officially reached a historic ₦1.466 billion and counting at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of all time! A massive THANK YOU to our incredible audiences in Nigeria and Ghana for making this dream a reality! Your means everything. On to even greater heights! Still showing in cinemas near you—experience the magic on the big screen,” the post read.

The film crossed the ₦1 billion mark in less than two weeks, cementing Akindele’s reputation as a trailblazer in Nollywood.

This achievement follows her record-breaking success last year with A Tribe Called Judah, the first Nollywood film to sur the ₦1 billion milestone. Akindele’s ongoing dominance at the Nigerian box office solidifies her status as the reigning queen of Nollywood.

Fans and industry colleagues have flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating her unmatched contributions to the film industry.

The whole accent thing has gone past its sell-by date. The series was also needlessly stretched.

Funked Akindeles strategy is that whenever she releases movies , she will give false profits, to make people go to watch her movies ...cos when people hear that her movie sold out , they will then go to watch it cos news of high sales will trigger people to go watch it...its a psychological effect ... now if u watch it, u will not see anything special in that movie .. those that will now rush to watch it will now be much , due to the news of false high sales ...that's how they make money off it... Cinema movies are no longer making money... and again, she usually targets festive seasons to reason her movies ... she's a smart business woman
