Same in Nigeria....When you have more religious buildings than factories, there will be few job opportunities

Lack of systems & structures by the political class - politics+governance - has the access to the authority, power, & fund to run & develop nations, so when the political class fails, let's not blame the religious class who did well to rent abandoned warehouses for churches.

America still has one of the highest number of churches & Christians, this has not stymied their developments because SYSTEMS & STRUCTURES exist for the POLITICAL CLASS to work with, even without perfection.

EDUCATION is not PRIMARILY MEANT FOR ONE TO BE A JOB SEEKER!

EDUCATION is meant to help one's mind be open to his/her INNATE & SELF DEVELOPED CREATIVE POTENTIALS as a HUMAN BEING placed on PLANET EARTH to add value to IT while not losing consciousness of ETERNITY.

EDUCATION is meant to POLISH & REFINE us of all forms of CRUDITY in behaviours, attitudes, mindsets, & actions, so that the GOLD we are as Humans would EMERGE.

EDUCATION is meant to make one to ask and get answers to questions like: WHY? WHAT? HOW? WHEN? of one's existence on EARTH.

This is already happening in Owerri. Most of our BUSIMO drivers are university graduates. My cousin is one of them, but he makes money from it since the car is his. He is now married with kids.

Failed human being.

It's not Nigeria's fault you are useless.

Even when you end up in China or India you end up pushing drugs there because you are lazy and useless.

I hope you have this same kind of zeal and hatred against the Politicians who made the country a shit hole in the first place?

This is the downside of over education
I predict that this will happen in Nigeria in 40-50 years.

Right now, every shop attendant/driver/security has O level in Nigeria unlike before when it was enough for a secretarial/clerk job. Almost everyone now has a HND/B.Sc and in 15 years time, B.Sc will be basic requirement for shop attendant/driver/security.

In 40-50 years, it will be the turn of Masters degree.
it's happening already my Uber driver is a graduate of ing with 2nd class upper

Just one case in China, and Western media publish headlines as if there are millions of them...

The BBC needs to focus on the Western crisis where Ph.D. holders are becoming homeless and Master's degree holders are becoming truck drivers...

In this our dispensation... a sincere person would accept that to create a balanced society... Education, Exposure, and Experience are core values needed by the populace...

Politely I will say that your opinion seems selfish... it is similar to the opinion of over population... that gave rise to the wicked legalizing of neonate murder... that's infant abortions...

Times changes with it's peculiar challenges... all that is needed... is right leadership with diligent followers...

Effects of overpopulation.

You are right but China utilized that population to get to where it stands today.

That’s what my country cannot do.

The government was able to put that population to work, and was even exporting resources.

It comes with gains and setbacks.

Wow, but their country keeps moving forward ever...

Unfortunately their population is very large and everyone can't be carried along. Even the US having much lesser population still has some poor citizens.

Education is not a guarantee of anything but it's still an important aspect of life. The ability to start small with the necessary skills, desire to learn and network have larger roles to play in forging a career.

And yes, the economy matters in creating jobs and these numbers should be better for China. But it's difficult to use a few examples to conclude that over-education is worrying the most populous nation on this planet.

Another thing is expectation. A master's holder will want a job that commensurate with their "education" but it's very possible they don't have basic work and professional skills, which they could have acquired while in school via internship and voluntary service.

True. Poverty is everywhere in this world. From New York to LA. From Tokyo to Toronto. From Berlin to Singapore. From London to Morocco etc. Whereever people are settled, there will always be the haves and the have-nots.

Political leaders have a big role to play to reduce poverty and increase human development BUT at the end, everyone must find their way.

It will not a requirement like u said. Rather there will be too many applicants with higher qualifications than requested. That will force people to settle for less than they expected.

They are too much. Let Chinese government create another killer disease to reduce their population

They're creating. But our people are importing the diseases. That's the problem.
