I have been trying to send SMS to someone yesterday but keep getting message not sent notification.

I kept trying after confirming that I have sufficient credit but keep getting the same message not sent error message.

I sent another SMS with fewer character to another person and it went instantly.

I took notes and splited the message like Twitter posts of those days and it went instantly.

I was still wandering why the message did not go through as a single text. Curious about that, I sent the same message to my second line and got the same message not sent error message.

I was like this is general issue. But within a second, I received the message on my second line. It dawn on that I have been defrauded by MTN. I headed straight to check my balance. My has depleted from 2k to six hundred plus.

I have sent five SMS page message over 40 time because my message app kept reporting that message was not sent.

If there was something like consumer protection in Nigeria, you would be compensated for this.

This is a very good opportunity to drag MTN,
But as naija take dey now,there are more pressing issues at hand than to drag MTN over #1,400

Tecno. Don't even go there. It is all MTN.

Check your message settings and confirm the message settings number

i don't think is MTN, if it's google message your are using it might be that is trying to send using data RCS messaging...
then u have to switch it to sms for it to deliver, it has happened to me before..is few frnd i do use the RCS for, to chat and send images using data..
just like iMessage...

Not RCS messaging. You can only send RCS messages to numbers already configured or ed on their network which is not the case here.
It is definitely MTN. The messages have started going through. They got the memo and has rectified it.

Sincerely have being experiencing same for a while now. Once the message is more than 1 page I usually get error, sometimes I have to close my message app and open after some minutes and try again. I never noticed charges for the error messages though cos I don't check.

i have sent message to number i didn't save on my phone wen they called me that they haven't received the message i had to check and resend using sms.. it has happened to me multiple times so i don't make that mistake again...

You really can't send RCS message to uned number. RCS messages requires data. If the recipient doesn't have active data, they can not receive any message sent to them through Google RCS messaging. I know about RCS messages. I use it.
