Borrowing money at interest to defend the naira ?

Obi has shown with that statement that he is more interested in sustaining an unsustainable import based economy, since an artificially propped naira will benefit only importers like himself.

How sustainable is this?

How can an import based economy provide jobs and enhance local production ?

Will this not lead to more trade deficit and turn Nigeria to a dumping ground and stifle local industries? And in no due time see to dwindling of FX earnings ?

Someone rightly said here that Obi is not a businessman but a mere trader. He was right.

Another poster here once related how Shagari's govt on the urging of Alex Ekweme liberalised importation in the 80s by lifting the ban on importing certain products produced locally and how that dissatrous policy saw to many local companies struggling.

I have said it here that the SE business model of importation has done a lot of damage to our local industrial base.

This is the same Obi that has been telling us he wants to move Nigeria's economy from consumption to production but here he is now promoting more importation by defending the naira through borrowed FX?

The silver bullet is the crude supply in naira to local refineries.

Fixed naira price of crude will stabilise the currency.

Obi who you call a daft illiterate is an international business man, former governor and a billionaire. What about you? You're wretched and living in a one room apartment, struggling to survive. This shows that you're worse than a daft illiterate.

You de deceive yourself, you will wait till eternity and nothing like that will happen. It shows even the followers of Tinubu are ignorant of economic systems

Just stating the obvious solution. Whether the government decides to implement that is a separate matter altogether.

Meanwhile…

Dear Jagaban lovers,

What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?

1. food security;
2. poverty eradication;
3. growth,
4. job creation;
5. access to capital;
6. inclusion;
7. rule of law; and
8. fighting corruption

https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp

What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created?

Nigerians are now going through what most African nations are subjected to - a harsh cold economic reality.

It's obvious that the Nigerian economy has been artificially propped by oil revenue and an unsustainable fuel pricing .

Your foolish Obi did not see how he can grow exports and create jobs through industrialization but the fool says he will borrow money to subsidize the naira so as to promote importation .

How will promoting imports via defending the naira with borrowed funds increase exports to earn more FX to repay the loan he took out for this ?

How will an import based economy see to job growth after all the remaining companies shut down permanently because Obi and Sons are now dumping cheap substandard Chinese crap onto the market?

Tell that your trader messiah that he has no business anywhere near any govt office .

Instead they are here doing their usual failed attempt at gaslighting.

Defend the foolishness of borrowing morning to subsidize FX for importers and convince me it's the best way to go.

I think borrowing money to save money isnt a smart move.
If I was the president, I'll do the same thing that Tinubu did but I won't implement all the policies at once, he was heartless in executing these policies but it's the best policies, punishment that we are suppose to suffer for 10yrs, Tinubu is making us suffer everything in 4yrs, that is not a wise thing to do, but it's still better than using money to save money

You heard them calling someone "warehouse economy".. you should know the 'gbaju e' is a complete ol0do. In his small mind, Nigeria can be likened to his Next supermarket warehouse where he does all the wuru wuru he likes.

The only pain he has is that he can't corner all Nigeria's resources to his Igbo ethnic group alone and build a war chest full of money to break out biafra, that is the only thing paining Mr. Obi.. all the nonsense the ol0do is writing are meaningless.
