oga rest u knw nothing about football.

Try and make case for Musa as well since Iheanacho deserves his recent call up. Atleast both are experienced

If Tanimu can be one of your best super eagles defenders recently who am I to question your choice of Iheanacho at the expense of in form younger strikers performing week in week out in europe

I know you are old enough on this forum to know we have gone through this type of argument over and over. Who is talking about Ahmed Musa here? Please let's remain focused on the subject of discuss. We know what Iheanacho can offer the national team, if a coach picks an Iheanacho over an UNTESTED young striker let's respect it. Some of us have followed football long enough to know some of these things.

Chief I understand your ion for George's inclusion now my argument is based on the squad current make it will be hard to find a place for him unless as a fourth option in attack.

Even Osimhen didn't instantly make it into the team framework. He got called then was left out for a while for more experienced hands till he was recalled and took off like a bang.

Managing the national team is not just about looking at future additions but also overseeing current performances. I believe reaching to George assure him of how much we think he can contribute to the team is the way to go at 18 he still needs to get better even at Monaco he isn't a starter at best he's a young prodigy to keep our eyes on.

That said I understand your worry for not to snatch him but it's really in the young man's court if he's interested in playing for Nigeria which I haven't heard yet.

charlesemeka85:
your reasoning and disposition is the reason why as a nation we will never grow

So u re thinking of now and not the future?

Who told u we want George to come and take Osimhen or Boniface place in the team? Is it not better he serve as an understudy to the likes of the snr duo you mentioned just as Osimhen was eased into the team by understudying Ighalo and others?

that re chasing him u think they want to incorporate him to their snr team right away?

U aren’t thinking about tomorrow but immediate gain and impact? Nawaoooooo

I swear e go hard us to even smell the quarter finals of the World Cup late alone the semis πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Very very good angle. You have him cornered.

But ehn abeg, why use this example? Me and My Moroccan boys hate to be reminded of that disgraceful result abeg. So painful. Imagine. A whole WC Semifinalist team got trounced by "Mamelodi Sundowns XI" (8 starters that day play for Mamelodi).

Abeg, find another example use. This PTSD is fresh.

It shows a good african league like South africa, Morocco, Algeria etc is better than any league outside the top 20 in Europe
For leagues between ten to twenty in Europe, it is comparable

This is one of the reasons why I as much as we should engage Nigerian born talents to switch to play to get us we shouldn't make it seem we wouldn't be able to perform without them.

There are many talented players willing to rep the GWG but we need to revamp our scouting network to discover hidden gems like the likes of Nwabali instead of the Tanimus that our NFF ogas are in the habit of calling up.

If we had seriously addressed our defense and midfield issues until recently we won't be bellyaching over whether Olise, Eze, and Adarabioyo want to play for us. At the time we were chasing Abraham he was probably a bigger profile forward that what we had at the time but are we not better off today.

Yes we need to be strategic to attract the right talent but also not make ourselves look desperate.

Charles has a valid argument. Truth is the FBs or abroad raised player's 1st choice would most likely be the country they grew up in, so we are at a disadvantage already. We should be the ones pulling all the levers we can pull to get those boys on our side, once we see huge potential. We could have tied Eze and maybe even, Saka and Tomori down if we were very proactive, intentional and strategic.

sometimes we harshly criticize the NFF , if Omorodion didn’t tell the world we tried inviting him I’m sure many people will be calling the NFF names for not going after him, this George that some people are insulting the NFF and other forum who knows maybe he already turned us down because the French have already started wooing him

You all should forget about Tosin. He and his elder brother who also doubles as his agent have never been interested in our project and they will never be.

My favorite addition among the UK boys. the wrong penalty call given against him during pre WC friendly with I think DRC and the way people piled on him. Truly reinvented himself in the SE.

I'm my opinion which you can disregard, he flatters to decieve limited end product too much dribbling with nothing very little to show.

How many goals has he scored in the past four seasons in 80 league games he has scored 9 goals. That's poor with all his unnecessary dribbling 😞

I am looking towards the day you will break your record of lies and utter bias.

Simon Mignolet was the undisputed no 1 in Liverpool for a long time and had lots of good performances , occasionally making gaffes and letting in cheap goals.

Eventually, the club concluded he just wasn't good enough, and realised they were not going to win titles with him so they got Alisson Becker.

Thereafter, Liverpool won the Champions League and the Premier League titles. No be coincidence.

Like Mignolet, like Okoye. We are not going far or winning any competition with Okoye in goal.

If you think he's the reincarnation of Buffon, that's fine. I think he's jittery, has poor judgement, error prone and not a dependable goalkeeper.

We can agree to disagree.

At the end, we all want the best for the Super Eagles and I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

komekn:
The basis for national team selection is continuous consistent outstanding top πŸ” Level 🎚️ Performance, in club and league.

Okoye made one mistake and you will not let him rest, you are prejudiced.

Okoye is classed as one of the best goal πŸ₯… keepers in Seria A his statistics outstanding in the here and now. He has obviously improved.

Nwabili has been good no doubt in comparison to the shambolic keepers we had in the past. But right now Okoye deserves a chance and let's see how good he is.

Nonetheless, I have very serious doubts about Eguavon and his selections. He has invited a dead player in the name of KC who has been mediocre for over 4 season.

He has ignored players in form to select a player based on historical performance.

A manager who selected Nwakali is hight questionable ❓

Yes Okoye is getting good reviews in seria A but NOT BETTER than Nwabali….Nwabali came in and nailed it at once for eagles but Okoye despite the packaging failed to convince us for once in eagles.I watched Okoye last season and watching him this season he is not in anyway better than Nwabali, yes Nwabali is in South Africa league.

My happiness is that we now have improved Okoye who can step in anytime but guess what he need a game to tell us he is better in eagles color like he is doing presently withUdinese.

I can understand your frustration that you don't want Nigeria to lose out on George like we did with Eze. I don't know if the NFF scouting department behind the scenes are following up on Ilenikhena but from the looks of it we need to do more.

On the football side is George ready and to displace our current SE options? At best for me it's debatable cos he obviously can't bench the two Victors, KC trumps him with experience while the fourth strikers' position is open but with many names battling for one spot.

Talking about Eze, please put the blame on Rohr and not the NFF... At least NFF played their part by inviting Eze and Aina to the team training camp in London in 2017.... But Rohr, for reasons best known to him refused to call him up.. instead he was calling up Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo and Ogu as our midfield options for the better part of his tenure...

Una carry Aboki go put as NFF chairman and now we're about to lose George Ilenikhena to , as shaky as Pinnick was, one thing I'll always miss about him was how he was proactive about approaching our dual nationals during his stint. George Ilenikhena was easily the one player we could have gotten without the least worry and hassle with split commitments and nationality switch process wahala. I mean what would it have cost NFF to actually invite the guy against Libya and give him a cameo appearance at the 80th minute off the bench to officially cap-tie him to Nigeria? Fucking low IQ idiots, but if it's to invite league 2 benchwarmers with ties to political godfathers to the national team, they won't disappoint with that one.

Eguavoen should beat Libya home and away most likely, but that is merely papering over the cracks cause this NFF have shown themselves out as utterly clueless and short-sighted. I feel bad for the likes of Arokodare, Chuba Akpom, Dessers
and Akor Adams who are all having great seasons at their clubs but don't have the option of switching to another country that is actually serious.

Tomorrow someone like you will accused Nigeria leaders of the same thing you just showed over here.
Was Aboki the NFF Chairman when we lost Eze, Saka, Tomori, Tammy Abraham and many others?
And who are the "WE" that put him as NFF Chairman? He was elected by FA chairmen of the 36 States and these chairmen includes those from the SS/SW/SE
