Civil servants under the federal government payroll will start receiving the new minimum wage payment from Thursday, the 26th of September.

The Spokesperson of the Office of the ant-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Thursday.

He assured that workers will begin to get alert of their new minimum wage salary payment starting from Thursday.

However, Mokwa did not state if the minimum wage would be paid alongside its arrears.

He told our correspondent, Federal Government civil servants will start getting the new minimum wage from today(Thursday) this September 2024. What I can tell you is that the minimum wage salary payment is today I am not sure of the arrears”, he told DAILY POST.

His comment comes after the Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta, on Tuesday confirmed that the government has approved the upward review of consolidated public service salary structure, CONPSS in line with the minimum wage(Amendment) Act, 2024.

This followed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of N70,000 new Minimum wage on July 18, 2024.

Thereafter, the Senate ed the new minimum wage bill into law

You believe a State Governor that didnt even pay the last 30k minimum wage over the FG that doesnt joke with that?

Every state gov and multi national should start paying too

A nation can’t be better if only 1 percent of the population is enjoying the new increase

A big lie. The minimum wage is not reflecting on the September payslip of majority of civil servants on IPPIS pay roll. The lies and confusion surrounding the minimum wage, wage award and 25 -35% increment on selected consolidated salary structures will continue to exis untill when the federal government will do the right thing.

Federal government draining up your pockets through electricity bills, PMS, cost of living and food security, and giving back peanuts! So much for being a Nigerian

The lives of civil servants would have been better with the 30k+ as minimum wage while petrol price was at 580/L than it would be today with 70k minimum wage, with petrol price of 1k / L

Systemic retrogression😷

Hypocrisy everywhere

Because Otti is a honest man.

Someone promised 35k wage award and that the payment would continue till minimum is paid...Baba stopped it at just 4months.

He promised 35% and 25% review of salary,no-one has gotten it till date.

He promised to pay a living wage baba deceived them all,and now promised them poverty alleviation wage,yet un paid.

He promised to pay pensioners 25k wage award...he only Jones them till date.

Back to Otti,Otti promised Abias first,that there is money in the state and that he would pay all arrears owed to both workers and pensioners... he paid workers and paid some pensioners and few pensioners remains.

He promised he would build roads and make Aba great again,he has kept to his promise.

He promised to partner the federal govt to build an airport,that one is about to start.

He promised to connect abia rural villages with roads and that has equally commenced.

If na u,who would u choose?

I can see u are the chief hypocrite here.

Scammers. All they did was add N40k across board for all civil servants and tagged it minimum wage. What sort of government is this?

Dear Jagaban lovers,

What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?

1. food security;
2. poverty eradication;
3. growth,
4. job creation;
5. access to capital;
6. inclusion;
7. rule of law; and
8. fighting corruption

https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp

What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created?

civil servants are angry and feel betrayed. Adding 40k across board for every civil servant wasn't the minimum wage that was negotiated. That's what government isn't telling the general public.
