I believe polls had adjusted their weighting by 2022, when they had Dr Oz and Kari-Lake slightly up, only for them to lose.

12 million illegal immigrants came across the border.
An establishment that sought to jail Trump before the election will stop at nothing to prevent his return.
Push just 1% (100K) to Pennsylvania and they've won the election.

To your comment about adjustments, three things to note:
1. There are lots of Trump-only voters who did not turn out in 2022.
2. SCOTUS struck Roe v Wade and Graham proposed a national abortion ban weeks before the election.
3. The preceding development triggered an overwhelming turn out by the dems. It's the reason the blue wall all have democrat governors who won with very strong margins.

A general rule in polling is that polls do not predict turnout.
That's why Trump could have slim leads or be tied with Harris in every swing state and Kamala will still have a 25+% chance of winning.
Because if voters turnout for her, it'll blunt whatever advantages Trump has; real or imagined.

In fact, without Roe v Wade, the Red Wave would have happened and Kamala will have no strength going into this election besides not-Trump.
And again I'll accept that polling in 2024 should be more accurate than 2020. But Kamala needs to be up 2+ in PA (+/- 0.5), and 4+ in Michigan and Wisconsin (+/- 1) in the R average to be a clear favorite. It is not impossible. Just very low likelihood after a debate that apparently did not shake up a tied race.

Sadly, after Trump, all of these peculiarities will go out the window and it'll be back to regular programming without adjustments.
It's why I don't get Never-Trump conservatives. They have valid reasons to withhold their especially since he already delivered Roe v Wade.
But when their perfect candidate comes around, the candidate will not be able to build the coalition that Trump has.
