Its 3,190,038.66 anyone that can afford this as proof of funds can easily sustain themselves over there. I think that's what the UK government is calculating

PNomsule:

How so, isn't this misleading? Break it down to how you arrived at N65m?

Not until you add school fees to it.

After the deposit, your total pof = outstanding school fees + sustainable funds

That will run to over 40 million naira (£20k)

NB: These doesn't include IHS ń visa fee

The other day I received an email from the British Council's recruitment team titled "career purge."

What they meant to say was career page, I shook my head and thought to myself, this is the body conducting IELTS exams for folks like me to enter their country. Tufiakwa, make I bend if I ever take that nonsense exams for the sake of migrating to UK, temporarily or permanently.

Hahahaha..... grin grin
You dey vex.

They came and told us our way of life and way of doing things wasn't the best. They imposed the English language on us, which truthfully, I don't mind because today that helps us to communicate with one another in a diverse country like mine.

What annoys me is how they put us (an English speaking country) through English proficiency
tests at a fee, when they are not perfect at it themselves. Career purge koh, career page ni! The brits just love to feel superior for nothing if you ask me and IELTS is another way of fleecing people.

It's their superiority complex that made me swear never to the English national football team. Even the Scots and the Irish seem to have beef with them. cheesy

What bothers me about the IELTS certificate is that the British Council deliberately sets its validity period to 2 years for most countries. This means you have to keep paying them repeatedly to demonstrate that you are still fluent in English. Mtcheeew! angry

Really what stops us from having the best basic amenities? Good roads, good schools, constant electricity, good health care system? The useless crop of leaders too go over there to enjoy the same basic amenities with the money they stole from us.

Truth be told, Naija na beautiful country if these things fit set.
Those were thoughts I had when I walked through a residential neighbourhood two months ago. Not an elite neighbourhood, but I just murmured that there is no difference between here and parts of Lekki. Major differences are the pedestrian walkways and silence as a result of the absence of generators. Finish!

It depends on what you studied. Those who studied management courses are struggling to get jobs everywhere in the world. The only place where Jobs are somewhat guaranteed is the United States. The problem is that getting US visa is hard.
It is equally tough in the US due to the work visa restrictions. But yes, I do agree that the employment situation in the US is better than most developed countries.

Nothing even dey the UK sef. U will just be working to pay bills. Only that basic amenities are accessible and everything works
Everyone pays bills everywhere. This narrative that some don't pay bills, say in Nigeria, is misplaced.

What's this one saying. Who doesn't pay bills anywhere? All I'm saying U can't do pretty much but earn enough to take care of Ur bills in an endless cycle. Though there are some very few exceptions who obviously are not working a 9-5
