Email and send the web form to IRCC with the subject line “Urgent,” you should receive it in a day or 2.
Kenny4real68:
Hi Everyone

PLEASE HELP

My Sister’s School is starting on Sept 3rd. She got port request on 26 August, she submitted on 27th and she have her stamped port with her right now.

The issue is that she already booked her flight to canada for Sept 1st to land on Sept 2nd, but her introduction letter is not yet on her Gc key . I know that letter is very important and immigration officials ask for it on arrival.
Please what can be done in this situation, or will they consider her on arrival being that her resumption is at the corner.

Eckimalu:

I believe the GCMS note is self-explanatory. The VO believes the funds in your brother’s are for demonstration, as you did not provide documents to justify the lump sums in the .
You can reapply with a convincing SoP explaining the source of the lump sum with ing documents. Also, provide additional information regarding his salary and revenue if he is self-employed, as the VO wants to know if his salary or business income justifies such a balance.

Jimin95:
I've received my GCMS notes and see what is says. For context, I used both brother and Mom. My brother works in the US as a software engineer and my mom had 11M in her . The total POF was more than I needed by at least 10k CAD.

For the VO to refuse your application on IRPR 220(b), which is living expenses, is either your funds were insufficient, or there were unexplainable lump sums, or the VO was not convinced about the relationship and sponsorship. A VO can refuse an application for insufficient funds, even if the balance is enough to cover the cost of education if;
1. there is a large deposit with no reasonable explanation, and the 's history is inconsistent with such a deposit.
2. The was opened recently
3. It is a corporate with less than 1y statement and poor cash flow. Also, failure to show the sponsor is the sole owner of the business and has access to the .
4. Unconvincing source of the income
This list is not exhaustive. Review the bank statement for the aforementioned and see how you can address them.
Luchi814:
I used a sponsor and there was no lump sum as it was a business and had daily income and no lump sum, abi 100-200k na lump sum.
Secondly nothin was updated on my portal till they refused the visa

For those coming to study for the purpose of getting a PR, I will advice you first go to the Express Express CRS tool and calculate what your future score would be with after earning a Canadian degree. If your score would up to 520 to 530, then I would advice you forget about it and not waste your time and money going through the study permit process.

At the moment, the average cutoff score is an around 510 to 520. Now this score keeps increasing yearly so don’t expect it to come down. If you begin your study this year in Canada, you will spend about two years studying then you graduate. After you are done studying, the minimum cutoff could have climbed to 530 which still puts you behind and unable to get a PR.

So my advice to everyone is that study permit is not a road to PR. Do your calculations well, see what your score would be after studying. If you feel it would be enough, then go for it. If not you only end up wasting your time and money.

Instead of coming to Canada to waste millions for a degree that does not guarantee PR, why not enroll in a French program in Nigeria and learn the French language? The cutoff for people fluent in French is just around 380. You can learn French in few months and the TEF test. Then apply for PR from Nigeria, that in my opinion is the best route for anyone who really wants to migrate to Canada.
Learning French would not only help for PR, it would also help in getting a job. There are lots of jobs in Canada for people who are bilingual. Jobs that even the Canadian degree would not get you.
Nothing is certain with canada 🇨🇦 these days..Trudeau government are reducing permanent residents arrivals people coming from abroad with PR in express entry since may 10th 2024 according to what they discussed in the last province and territories meeting with canada immigration minister, recently Trudeau wants to reduce the immigration level plan made his own statement in August 2024, even the French language proficiency draws may be stopped at any moment once they reach target or decides to reduce temporary residents arrivals from that category..
The only draws that is certain for now in express entry is CEC because majority of the candidate in the pool are already in Canada and not arrivals which they draw twice every month. They only prioritized
French to preserve French language culture and history in canada..
CEC cut off started dropping recently based on the last three draws because there is no other category to draw in that pool except CEC and French language draws including provisional nominees program which has its quota already and CEC candidates in that pool is not that increasing and scores started dropping and government wants to meet its 2024 immigration targets, unless the immigration level plan changes in 2025 CEC cut off points 👉 @ 507 last draw started with cut off point @ 522 will drop below 500 in 2025 because of cap on study permit,SOWP and other work permits for temporary residents.

Hello Everyone,

I am planning to use $20k GIC certificate along with a loan to cover for my One year postgraduate certificate fees payment with a monthly repayments of $389.4 for 48 Months... I'm self sponsored and plan on stating on the LOE that my current Salary (N500,000) from where I'm currentoy Employed and Personal Business will cover for the Montly repayment while schooling in Canada...

Is this above a good strategy or should I pay full school fees and use pof to cover for the $20k cost of living for the Canada study visa... I'm avoiding this way because of the stress of explaining lump sums to the visa officer...

Please which of the options is better. Your s is highly needed, thank You

I assume you are taking an MSc. You can use a third party for SWOP, and the proof of funds is not as much as that of a study permit; however, you must explain why the person wants to spend thousands of CAD to sponsor your family. Has he been ing the family before now? What is the relationship? Is he financially stable?
Don’t neglect other aspects of the application, for example, demonstrating the genuineness of the relationship with your wife and home ties.

I am a PhD student. I am not just referring to my wife, our kids are involved too. He has been ing the family and also financially stable. In my initial application for study permit, I provided my family details and the marriage isn't a recent one.

With the above details, kindly advise further.

True, but I don’t see French draws slowing down anytime soon. Unless you live in Quebec, it is becoming uncommon to find Canadians that can speak French. So they need to even the French - English population and this might take several years even with the numerous French draws

I still think the fastest and cheapest way to PR is by learning French. I know of someone who took the TEF test within just 4 months of learning French and got CLB 7, the test is so easy if you have that basic knowledge. A serious person with no prior knowledge of French who starts learning it today can be fluent enough to take the TEF test in 6 months or less. Compare that with spending around 40 million and two years for a Canadian degree that does not even guarantee PR unless you are lucky enough to find a professional job which is increasingly becoming unlikely because of the job shortages in the country.

And even if French specific draw stops, you still get 50 point for EE and you also would probably qualify for nomination in Quebec and other provinces.

Please I want to ask, Masters program and post bachelorette (bachelor) diploma do they give spouse open work permit on both programs?

Secondly, post bachelorette diploma, does it has high rate of denial as the undergraduate diploma

Lastly, which is advisable for one to apply to, that one can have higher rate of visa acceptance
( MSC OR POST BACHELORETTE DIPLOMA?)
Courses intended to study are healthcare related courses

Hi KingKing2468,

I empathize with you regarding your brother's refusal. Would you mind sharing his decision letter with me and other well-meaning of this thread? I'd love to help identify the reason for the refusal and offer advice if he's interested in reapplying.

Check thread of nairaland for SOWP

@Duchess102: Please do you have an idea about how I can get to confirm that VFS has indeed received my port submission? I did not book any appointment nor physically visit VFS office but rather I submitted my port at DHL office and was given a tracking number. I tracked my port on DHL platform, and it says the port has been delivered to VFS Lagos on Friday by 9am. However, I have not received any notification from VFS that they have received my port from DHL. Please, kindly advise how to confirm that truly VFS has received and will transmit it to IRCC for stamping.

Friday is too close to start worrying and is a half day, Monday might be too busy for them, however you should receive a email from them confirming the received of your port.
Did you pay VFS for transmission?

Sorry about this, he can try to apply for GCMS notes to check what really was the VO reason to state he has insufficient funds.

Also regarding his application what are the answers to these?

1 - What Course did he apply for hope it's either trade, stem or health related

2 - Pay Full Tuition or at least First Semster Tuition

3 - Show Sufficient Bank Statement for the $20K CAD Living Expenses and $5K CAD for travel expenses and rest of Tuition if he paid only first semester fee

4 - Also is he self sponsored or has a sponsor, of he has a sponsor what's the relationship between him and sponsor

Thanks for the clarity.
Yes, I paid for VFS for the port transmission to IRCC and I equally paid for VFS to courier the port to my house after stamping. I included these payment receipts in the package I asked DHL to handover to VFS. So, as rightly advised, I will wait for VFS to send me an acknowledgement or a confirmation that my port has been received by them and the next actions to be taken. I was worry because I expected VFS to acknowledge my payment for the port transmission immediately I made the payment last Thursday.

advice for anyone coming to Canada.
immediately you get your visa, go ahead and extend your port to 10yrs validity in Nigeria. be serious with this advice. renew/extend your ports in Nigeria.
also, its best to come with PR, because student pathway to PR has casted & its extremely expensive. health oriented courses have the highest job prospects.
