Hello Bro, I have a setup already but I had to leave my inverter on 24/7 to power starlink when I am not home to manually change to grid power. Can you tell me what I need or supply the items necessary to build an automatic changeover and integrate it with my existing changeover? Valto: |

sonickay: What kind of inverter are you using? |

sonickay:I can build an automatic change over for you. It will transfer load, put of the inverter and activate your charger (that's of if you have an external charger) Your location? |

I have an external charger connected to a socket linked to permanently to grid. When I am going out, I change over to inverter while the external the charger plugged in to grid to charge the inverter. I will like setup to switch back and forth whenever there is grid power. I am in Lagos Obnoxious2001: |

sonickay: When do you want it done. It should cost around 20k to add that feature to the inverter. |

Obnoxious2001: Can you share steps and resources to achieve this? |

Thats a bit steep bro and close to the price of those on the market. I can build it if you could sell me the components and share a schematic with me as I have the hands-on experience to soldier and use vero boards

saint2ace:If you are good with electronics, you can put together a relay circuit to do the switching when there is mains. Check youtube |

FourQu: I only told him the cost. Just like say it will cost you 100k to get a 60A lithium battery build. |

Obnoxious2001: Is that why you deliberately left out mentioning the parts that cost the said amount? π€ I mean, you said you did yours right? You must have a parts list or schematic don't you? unless sharing is an issue i don't see why you'd make it harder for someone else to be able to do what you claimed you did After all, this is a DIY aka hobbyist thread ![]() |

@FourQu Please dont misinterpret Obnoxious. By the way, I can charge anyone if you cannot go a diy route to build sth. Do you want such time to be free? The information on this thread is already free. Hope you know? 1 Like |

FourQu: I have not done it yet. But it's something that I can do ![]() For the parts you will need a relays, resistor, capacitors, diode, transistor, Vero board, soldering led. Inverter uses the same thing just that it's microcontroller controlled. The block diagram is something like this Mains=> rectifiers> switch=> relays =>out put The relay will be having 2 power sources 2 Likes |

Valto:make i no do promise and fail. am back with the wiring explanations this is for a 12v 800w pure sine wave sachet inverter 12v 20A dedicated lifepo4 lithium battery charger 12v 100ah lifepo4 lithium battery material used is an 8pin 10A relay |
Valto(m): 10:00pm On Aug 30, 2024 |
note if your load is above 500w, i will advise u use a stronger relay /or i needed to get wires from 3 sources 1, from charger AC input source 2, from wires coming from inverter AC output 3 from inverter AC socket (note i disconnected wires soldered on the inverter Ac output socket) then to the relay itself it is an 8pin relay with socket wires from inverter Ac socket goes to relay socket no: 1 and 8 wires from charger Ac source goes to no: 3 and 6 wires from inverter Ac source no: 4 and 5 in order to energise the coil, wire is tapped from no:3 and 6 to no: 2 and 7 make una vex for my not too detailed post, as me i no go school ![]() 5 Likes |

FourQu: Leveraging people experience on A DIY is also against the ethics of DIY. Because think about it, why do I have to share my experience if you decide to DO IT YOURSELF (DIY). By DIY you learn everything yourself and ask questions when you are stuck. You never do anything you dey ask question and process?. Take your time and extract information research them then implement. Those diy forums you are calling Will still ask for your progress. 1 Like |
