Firstly the Yorubas would not be remaining above poverty lines just because of Lagos. It has limitations and guage. Aside Lagos, all other western states are in serious developmental mess. With time the poverty stats will be too choking to all.

But then your people still find it comfortable to settle for a little even though they have somewhere else they came from to the central city . That's why their indigenous states remain largely undeveloped or modernized because the boys that could change the old houses are very comfortable living in the cheapest neighborhood and couldn't push there limits. In the west, the people who builds good houses and some sorts of development in their villages are mostly from white collar jobs and abroad based but in the East,

Infact after my last paper at the university,Dad sat me down are warm me not to be lazy like him who first settles and waits for govt to pay him every month as a high school teacher.he warmed that my cert should be my last hope if all fails me.I took the advice wholely and kept pushing my limit. As a graduate I still took 2 yrs to learn a spare parts trade and craft, took another 1 yr to learn another, all this while I live alone in Lagos and pays full bills, drives bolt and keep my spirit high. I never make am but I want to use my youthful strength well. Unlike some people. Even in my local home village. Boys don't sit anyhow or doesn't engage in something, the community and vigilante groups will give you pressure nd hard times and you must work or leave the community. Where I come from home based are doing more well than even Lagos people. Everybody likes money and want to have their own.

when i said the Yorubas will always live above "poverty line" its not just base on projected development, right from the days of the black and white We yorubas are pioneers of wealth and class if we have stayed afloat for centuries bro nothing can take us down ...
