Xenob: Ignorant friends. Same thing happened to my neighbour years back. He got a good deal of a Honda accord, his brother kicked against saying K leg. He finally bought Opel Vectra, na mechanic every day for the next 3months before he rejected the car and returned to the dealer. The dealer sold the car and used the money to complete his japa money. |

weyreypey: You can run oh but that car is way too light for comfort. Back then when it came out first, people were just killing themselves in it. That was what discouraged me from buying it. |
weyreypey: 9:07am On May 28, 2024 |
adanny01: Too light. But fuel efficient. However it has more problems than necessary for a lifetime |
Xenob: 9:22am On May 28, 2024 |
adanny01: Hmm, but its quite factual that accords until 2007 generally have leg issues though, right? |
adanny01(m): 3:21pm On May 28, 2024 |
Xenob: There is a saying that what u don't know won't hurt you. The accords that have been so shamed about the k-leg is still a very very reliable car. Those who don't know will tell you never to buy it. But I that know it, I am sticking to it. I have used both Honda and Toyota, I still prefer the Honda in most cases. Maybe because I know I am good at diagnosing and maintenance to my own level. What I end up as experience is that most people who say no to Honda end up spending more money in buying and maintaining the Toyota they feel is unbreakable. Mechanics will advise you, go for Toyota, it is easy to repair. They do so cause the problems of Toyota are always specific and uncomplicated but the cost of such repairs is a record high that Mechanics get to buy you such expensive parts more often. Toyota is built to be reliable and efficient, Honda is built to perform and satisfy the better at it's price point while still bringing reliability and efficient in the mix. You end up with a car that checks all boxes. |

Xenob:Well done. The civic is a winner any day particularly if bought in good condition. Simplicity, beauty, reliability, it has it all. I respect a man that has the intellect to follow wise counsel. You picked the civic although it was not among your initial options. |

Elegantspiker: To me, safety comes first. You can prioritize reliability and fuel consumption, but ultimately, it's safety that matters most. After all, it's not just about avoiding expensive repairs, it's about avoiding/withstanding fatal accidents - like being hit by a drunk driver, bus, or truck. Safety should always be the top priority. People focus on the cost, but to me, what matters most is the safety of my family, so I'll choose the car with the best safety features even if it's more expensive. ![]() |
