There was an enforcement operation along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway yesterday. Policemen and Lagos State officials were impounding motorcycle taxis (Okada) that were illegally operating on the expressway and yellow and black commercial buses (danfo) that were operating on the BRT lane.

After the policemen and officials left, okada riders, bus drivers and conductors and area boys began marching towards the Orile Police Station (probably to attack the station). They saw a BRT bus on the way and decided to attack it. They stopped traffic in front of the bus and then attacked it, damaging the bus, robbing the engers and injuring the bus crew.

The mob was later dispersed by policemen from Orile Police Station who fired teargas at them.

UPDATE: Lagos State TaskForce led by CSP Tayo Akerele has deployed security officers on BRT routes across the State starting from the Alaba Suru area where a BRT was attacked by some suspected hoodlums recently.

These were the same people deployed to disrupt the peaceful protest at the lekki toll gate on October 20,2020 and later went to Oba Akiolu's palace and stole his dollars he kept inside coffin. As if that wasn't enough, they went and set BRT buses ablaze and same politicians and their gullible ers said they were IPOBS who came from Anambra. Tribalism won't move this country forward.
