How can you stop at 1980? Even up to the 90s and 2000s these equipment were highly relevant.

You see that cutlass, back in my day we would bend the tip to form a curve so we can cut stubborn grass. Elephant grass was easy to cut but that stubborn grass is truly stubborn. If you hit it your cutlass will bounce.

That metal bucket once caused a ring to form on my scalp because we had to go a very long distance to fetch water.

I have hidden inside that black and red box to hide from a very wicked senior prefect.

Federal Government Colleges of the old days no be beans.

grin You sef too stubborn when you Dey school as you don cut grass tire as punishment Abi na lie I talk

Who carried cutlass to boarding school?

We took the thin knives used in cutting fields, never cutlass.
madjune(m): 2:10pm On Aug 09, 2024
That box? I never liked it. Even if it's empty, carrying it by yourself na serious punishment.

Good ol-days when garri was so cheap and readily available, and yet a scarce commodity in boarding schools due to demand and high consumption. grin grin grin
Garri and cabin biscuit 🍪 were the number one life saver in those days. grin grin grin

I wonder how boarding school students today are coping under Tif.nubu's disastrous bulabu economic policies.

Was in boarding school from 1990 to 1995 and I had 4 of these items.

The plastic bucket
The black and red box
Cutlass (flying blade)
Bathroom slippers.

It was one of the easiest to jack. They either bend the sides or use a cutlery to slip the locks.

The thing you all are calling bucket is called PALE, Garawa in yoruba.

Like someone said if it mistakenly hits your head, na sorry be your name.
