82% massive failure calls for concern, we suppose judge the book, the printer, the author and even the publisher.

This is not good looking at all

then they should set out ways to block this mass failure of teachers and also apart from the exam, they should do physical exams on the various schools they tend to go to.

Everybody will now come and be criticizing the applicants. Nobody will care what kind of questions they were asked

Even those that have written aptitude tests 100 times will still come and criticize them

43000 out of 52000 failed.
Only 9000 ed.
Cut-off mark 50%.

A clear signal that our quality of education is dropping, & more people are regarding education as scam. To them, going to school is just to get the certificate, &not to learn.

43,000 failures wanting to teach a future generation undecided

And the cut off mark was only 50% cry I hope they got the required quota for hire from the successful ones or else they would need to either conduct the examination again or reduce the cut off mark further (thereby dumbing down the same future generation)

What A Quagmire embarassed

The poster below me is just trying to find any available excuse for the illiteracy of his people undecided

pay him no mind folks wink lets focus on the problems his future kin are likely to experience in the hands of unprofessional teachers wink

Gradually we'll get there.

I think NCE should be improved!

Why is it that the poorest in UTME are meant to go to colleges of education?

That's not fair!

The future of Education in this country most esp Oyo state is scary, we are in deep shit. The present in Oyo state failed terribly in of Education and the genesis could be traced to when he remove the 1k per term levy of Ajimobi.
The masses was happy then when he removed it but that single move made me lose hope on GSM and I know nothing good could come out of his .
The 1k then although was initially mismanaged but gradually, changes started coming to public schools, they started making chairs, etc.
A woman then went to agidigbo and started lamenting on how she has to pay 3k annually for her 5 kids in school, my question to her is why will you have 5 children when you can't afford 15k in a whole year.
We deserve our leaders

Forget this, the questions were not hard for intending applicants, 50 question in all, 30 questions from your field, 5 questions each from Maths and English, 5 from Critical thinking and the rest from current affairs.

I still maintain my position that 80% of Nigerian Graduates are not employable

zonties1:
that means high volume of teachers will , who knows may be d results has been manipulated
Oga those ppl failed, i personally knew like 8 ppl that applied, 3 ppl scored 64, 60, and 50 while the rest performed woefully and it was not surprising considering how I evaluated their thinking.
Those 3 ppl no get anyone except their Creator, infact one of the ppl that failed was boasting that he has given his form to a Governor Aide before the result was released

A cbt test is much harder to do than a paper based test. I learnt this when I took some cbt prep tests in the 2000s. I had been taking the tests on paper. The first time I took the test on a pc I was tired.

I got better with practice. You have to practise taking cbts on a computer until you get good at it. Otherwise you can know the answers and still fail.

If you check well, most of the failed teachers are from private schools.

... I'll attribute the massive failure of the applicants to their inability to use computer effectively. The blame is on them. A potential teacher in this 21st century should be computer literate.

Most of them are not good with computers and didn't bother to invest in themselves to achieve competency in using them, then practice CBTs on them.

This is very impressive and typical of the rigorous merit-based recruitment exercise for teachers the western region is known for. I am particularly happy that this is happening in Oyo state which used to be the capital of the old western region of Nigeria.

Congratulations to the successful candidates. I urge them to immediately start preparing for their interview stage. They should study hard and seek from those who had successfully gone through this stage in the past. They should avoid the naysayers and toxic companies that give negative energy and pray to God to crown their hardwork with resounding success. I am very proud of you if you have made it this far so finish strong.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

Atuero:

Good words of encouragement, however, don't you think the high level of failure in the exam calls for concern?
I don't think so. Most of those who failed probably didn't take the test serious while some failed because of their poor preparation or applied with fake or mediocre qualification.
Some can fail because they arrived late , feeling unwell or even because they failed to obey the rules guiding the conduct of the test.

In my opinion, 9000 is still very high and I expect Oyo State to raise the cut off point to 60% next time. That kind of cut off mark will attract more of serious candidates and talents in my opinion.
