Ireti Kingibe: ‘Stop making enemies, be concerned about 2027 – Omokri to Wike


Amid his rift with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, senator, Ireti Kingibe, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has cautioned the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike against opening too many battlefronts.

Omokri said Wike should be concerned with helping President Bola Tinubu win the 2027 presidential election in the FCT and not make enemies with Kingibe.

Kingibe had said Wike chose to focus on infrastructural development rather than the needs of the people.

Omokri wrote: “Wike is opening too many battlefronts. He should learn how to pick and choose his battles. At worst, Ireti Kingibe is just an irritant. As FCT Minister, she has minimal ability to do you any actual harm beyond nuisance value.

“You are already fighting an obstinate foe in Rivers. Why will you leave the elephant you are carrying on your head to use your toe to kill an ant? What if you slip and fall

“You are threatening her that she will not return. First of all, that is undemocratic. But even if Wike’s threat to stop her reelection was not undemocratic, how many ruling parties have won in the FCT? The FCT traditionally votes for opposition parties. Buhari lost the FCT in 2015 and 2019.

“President Tinubu lost it in 2023. Should Wike not be more concerned about winning FCT votes in 2027 than fighting a girl?

“If you constantly make enemies everywhere you go, perhaps other people are not the problem. What is in Ireti Kingibe that you cannot transcend her by ignoring her?”

Ireti Kingibe should be worried because Wike is a good politician who knows how to get what he wants. While it is true that Wike is not God but it is can be argued that Ireti is vulnerable because God doesn't play politics and is not interested in politics that is full of deceit and corruption. Can Ireti swear that she has not pocketed constituency funds and engaged in other forms of bribery and corruption?

I don't like Ireti cos I feel she is elitist but the way she is being treated and spoken to in such a condescending manner can only be because she a a woman! All the presentative must see this as an opportunity to rally around her and call Wike to order. Telling a public office holder to commit suicide is to be cautioned by all sides!!! Though I cannot expect much from APC , it is unfortunate this is the quality of people the major parites have consistently produced.
