Enugu - 94%
Anambra - 74%
Ebonyi - 54%

So states are getting up to a 94% increase in FAAC allocation YET governors are kicking against any MEANINGFUL increase in minimum wage?

I BLAME the workers who have found solace in labouring for peanuts while bitching about the government in low voices.

A sensible Labour Union, undaunted by bribes and intimidation, would have CRIPPLED the useless governors that refuse to pay a living wage.

Where I live, inflation acts like shitcoins on a bull run—it keeps jumping past UNBELIEVABLE points in very short periods of time.

Making a budget is now a joke. #50K would buy you just 57% of what it bought you 14 days ago.

You get anxiety when you receive your salary because you know you have to scheme and SCHEME some more just to cover basic amenities.

How Nigerian governors have not been gathered by their workers for communal ROASTING would be studied by future tyrants.

I really wonder why they claim to be marginalized when they are the biggest beneficiaries

One of Tinubu legacy to buy the state governors at the detriment of we the masses.

Even with the huge allocation, yet some wicked governors still owes their workers.

The improvement in fed allocation to States are meaningless because it hardly reflects in the their performance. The Govs aren't helping matters.

But can't blame them as they take a cue from the central government.

Nigeria is an organized crime state

Anyone who think there is no subsidy is not smart at all

You are not paying subsidy and petrol is 700 while diesel is 1450 ? We are paying 700 per litre in subsidy right now

Those increase happen as a result of devaluation of the naira that's all

Is there any special reason why you singled the Southeast out?
bmaster2000: 3:42pm On Jun 22, 2024
Now, anything that concerns this allocation to the state governor, all my people from the southeast will avoid the thread .. because they don't want people to see their state governors as the reasons for internal poverty in the State ... All they want people to see is that Jagaban is not doing anything...they are bent on causing Jagaban failure than pressuring their state governor to do their statutory responsibilities....they even prefer the Eastern state governor to spend and lavish all these allocations on themselves or their family and still shield them ...so that people will think all is well in the south east.....
One of the things I have observed recently is that more than 50 percent of the southeast people have now relocated to the southwest because no peace in their region....yet they still hate southwest people with a ion

Despite the increment, the state governments claim in unison that they can't sustain a minimum wage of about 62k.
I assume the increased funds will first of all impact of their security votes before the welfare of the people.
It appears the greater ineptitude is from the states rather than the federal government.
That's probably why a former governor can be accused of misappropriation of 80 billion naira. undecided

it's because the state governors have not borrowed away the future of the state like your southwest governors. Your governor's use the illusion of high IGR to borrow and the state allocation suffers

Being smart by half. You can clearly see that three of the top 9 states receiving the most cash from oil subsidy removal do not produce even a drop of oil which is the commodity in question here.

Number 1 = Delta Gets N38.760 billion naira
Number 2 = Rivers Gets N27.244 billion naira
Number 3 = Akwa Ibom Gets N26.277 billion naira
Number 4 = Bayelsa Gets N19.69 billion naira
Number 5 = Lagos Gets N14.970 billion naira ~ Does Not Produce a drop of Oil !
Number 6 = Kano Gets N10.69 billion naira ~ Does not produce a drop of Oil !
Number 7 = Edo Gets N8.848 billion naira
Number 8 = Ondo Gets 8.590 billion naira
Number 9 = Oyo Gets N 8.485 ~ Does not produce a drop of Oil !

You can clearly see those reaping where they did not sow in Nigeria! Where are the oil-producing states of the southeast in the top 9 states getting the most oil-subsidy cash?

It simply taking the comfort of the masses and transferring to the ruling elites at the subnational units to oppress them the more. There is very little the governors can do more than pay salaries and empower their cronies with contracts that don't help in solving the poverty in the states

Dem dey use bogus figures deceive una.

Let me give a clear example of why those figures up there are not worth anything.

January 2023 I bought an iPhone 14 brand new for 240K (TLC network locked).

January 2024 that same phone cost 450K.

Note the value of the phone in USD has dropped by a few bucks but increased by over 100% in Naira equivalent in 12 months.

That same iPhone 14 now costs 600k above in June 2024.

Now take this analogy and apply it to every other sphere of our daily lives and see if that so called increase translates to value.
