A lesson I learned some few years back. If you aren't a large scale who sells to distributors, just produce and retail. For example, I pity ppl who produce eggs and sell to retailers. They aren't gonna make money. If you are producing 200 crates weekly and supplying retailers, reduce production to 30 to 50 crates per week and retail yourself. You will make more profit and do less job. Also, those selling chicken meat, too. Selling to cold rooms is out of it. Just sell directly to consumers. Marketing and retailing are the keys to small-scale businesses. Period! If you can not market and retail your products, you will keep struggling and make people who can market richer. 4 Likes |

maasoap: And you should realize that things are not easy, hence the prices jumping up. Unless you are arguing government should set prices. Which I think you are doing. And as history tells us, Plus, trade fair ground is run by wholesalers , and I daresay the retailers outside buy from there. |

nairalanda1: So, you've now agreed that the petrol subsidy removal in a strikingly corrupt country can only cause hardships on the people, as i told you then? Some of you are not familiar with the true nature of Nigeria, but stay abroad and preach/ yeye policies pulled out of Economics textbooks. As the people now suffer and curse, let us pray their curses won't have much effects on you guys who imposed the hardships on them. 1 Like |

Lol Then go and open yours and reduce the price you will make money there stop criticizing them |
nairalanda1(m): 6:26am On Apr 22, 2024 |
ChybuzzDD: 1. I still stand by subsidy removal. It has a lot of problems, it is why until dangote we did not have domestic refining, and why we became a net importer of petrol. And why we lost billions for nothing 2. Our economy has never been good because it is not diversified and it cannot attract investment. I subsidy removal on power and petrol because it would attract more investment, meaning more jobs and eventually a better economy via diversification. The main issue with our economy is it's reliance on oil .. fluctuating oil prices over the years has so messed up our economy and left us vulnerable to debts and more.debt and inflation Dutch disease |

This is definitely coming from a salary earner with no understanding of what business is. You think business is about emotions or good man show? Let me point the facts to you. You said you bought a pack of your soap for ₦7,000 (6pc in it) that's approximately ₦1,170 per pack but retailers sell ₦1,700 per pack. That is a difference of ₦530 profit per. You calculated their profit per pack but removed eyes from their cost. Are you aware that before leaving the market, agberos will take their levy? Trade fair security will take their levy too They will transport back to their base/shop They will pay Malama in and out of the market to carry their goods? When they get to the shop, they will pay shop rent They will pay local govt tax They will pay lawma They will pay NEPA bill They will buy fuel for generator They will even pay sales girl (if they have) They will also feed and pay themselves from the business. They will even factor risk of goods getting spoilt or expired in their shop. You didn't factor all these because you think business is a charitable cause where someone slaves for you to get things for free. If it is easy, quit your job and start up a business 2 Likes |

Pecoleee345: Since you and your wife knows the source, open a shop and start the business and control your price let's see how long you will last. If you goto China to buy where people from trade fair buys you will still come here to shout how people from trade fair and buying cheap and selling too high to us. You can as well goto China and cut off trade fair people. |
