Hello to all the gurus in the house

Please i need urgent advice on my intended solar installation

I wish to install 2* 550Watts Solar s
30Amp Charge Controller

My batteries are 2* 220 Tubular batteries and lastly inverter is 2.5KVA Pure Inverter

Please i want to ask;

1. How long will it take to charge to full batteries with the 30A MPPT charge controller
2. How efficient is the set-up

In the past I used a more frugal setup with 4 350W s and 4 250A LA batteries and get a full charge within a day - on a good sunny day. Albeit with 80/100A charge controller can't which. 2 days should be more than sufficient for a full charge unless it's raining heavily.

I bring you bad tidings... The National grid have collapsed this evening....may the sun be in our favour tomorrow.

Same 6mm dc cable, same orientation... i guess its the shading then cos the s were cleaned recently..no changes.

No modern inverter should behave this way, it only just stop supplying. Turn off / on business continues.

True, but some low life inverters will not shutdown gracefully, they will blow a few mosfets if overloaded. I wonder why?

What most people always ignore.. what type of batteries?
those inverters have poor efficiency.

Honestly. I have seen Will Prowse on YT say his sachet inverter does up to 90%+. I am beginning to wonder if the low idle current is worth it with such DC|AC efficiency.

cheapest tubular is about 340k, highest about 450k
my professionally coupled 12v 105ah 1,344kwh lithium battery with 100A Bluetooth bms is 350k to 400k, with over 10 to 12yrs lifespan.

There is tubular of 280k in the market though.

Today I explored the 60a mppt charge controller and adjusted some settings.

Brought charging current from 100% (60a) to 34% (20a).

Please check the attached images to see if anything is out of place especially the bulk and float charging voltages.

Battery type should not be GEL if you are using tubular batteries.

My sachet inverter when pulling about 600va AC load, draws about 1kva DC power. That's about 60% conversion efficiency. Ambient temps was in the high 30°s though.

Has anybody actually measured their DC to AC conversion efficiency? I'ld like to know what they got. 🤔
