Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has set up an eight-man that would implement the report and the white paper of the committee that reviewed contracts awarded by the istration of the immediate past governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola.

Adeleke took over from Oyetola on November 27, 2022, and since then, the two men have endured a frosty relationship.

Shortly after taking over the reign of government, Adeleke set up the contract review committee through an executive order.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday, the new was charged with enforcing the recommendations of that original review committee and the subsequent white paper approved by the State Executive Council.


The statement read, “ of reference of the include enforcing the recommendations in the committee report and white paper, ensuring prosecution of culprits through relevant agencies and implementing all institutional recommendations to prevent reoccurrence of distortions in contract award and management.

“The committee is expected to commence operations immediately by giving effect to each of the committee recommendations as approved by the State Executive Council.”

The state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement, described the setting up of the implementation committee as a ploy to cover up mismanagement by the present istration uncovered by the opposition party.


Lawal said it was “funny that an istration that awarded road/flyover contract to the serving deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly without following the due process would now suddenly consider the setting up of an implementation of the White Paper on the Contract Review Committee?

“We wondered that why was it a day after our party accused Governor Adeleke of awarding state road/flyover contracts to his brother and nephew that he(Adeleke) suddenly considered it expedient to set up an implementation committee?

“Adeleke should thread softly as Osun people are now wiser and knowledgeable enough to read the true motive of his action meant to unjustifiably victimise the opposition for having the effrontery to catalogue the series of frauds his government is perpetrating against the state in the name of prosecution of legacy projects.”

If you want to criticize, at least make sure you get your fact right. When was Adeleke sworn that you're saying he has spent over two years. Do you know what you are saying at all?

My second question: are you from Osun State?
Even though Adeleke may have not been having a sterling performance, he is trying in some aspects. If you want to do criticism, don't do it from the place of bitterness. I have never or heard anywhere that dancing is a sin or an offense. There are many past and present Governors that look serious, but their istrations were/are nothing to write home about. Leave him to his dancing, at least he has reached a milestone in life. How many so called 'not-dancing' people. can boast of that achievement?

I haven't asked him to stop dancing. Let him work. Him dancing or not dancing is the same stupidity from almost all the governor's from 1999 till date. And yes he's going to two years and I meant to type over a year.

Being a failed leader is a stupendous milestone to achieve. I want to read about governors that make substantial and sustainable improvements not dancing or building statue will citizens are dying from easily preventable ailments.

The fact that you couldn't point to any reasonable achievement of his points to my fear that the man is currently failing and will most likely not Change the status quo.

You need to consider Oyetola's failure through the eyes of his predecessors excesses and unperceived failure.

Of course. It doesn't avail him. I keep telling people that you cannot trace the problem of Nigeria. My point is that Aregbesola borrowed money to look good, I equally praised him at first being ignorant of the consequences of his actions. Is it Oyetola that will tell Aregbe not to borrow?

My fear is that by the four year mark, this man (MJ 😂) will turn out worse than the previous two leaders we are criticising.

Anyone that's guilty should rot in jail including the person calling for probes. He's already playing the card of having the past istration as scapegoats instead of seeing what valuable achievement he could make.

That shouldn't be his primary focus as the success from that requires minimal attention and has little to do to improve the life of the citizens.
