Good morning everyone, please I have some newbies questions:

1. What are the needed documents that are needed for DIY application, to help us get them ready before application. I know NIN is required, any other document (s)?

2. After applying online today and successfully paying for example, can one just proceed to their office the next day for capturing? Or is there a timeline that must ?

3. After capturing, like how long does it take for the port to be ready for collection?

4. During the online application, what's the mode / means of payment. And must payment be made from the applicants number? For instance, can the applicant transfer money from a friend's number for the payment? Or must the payment come from her/ his number?

N/b, a kind of step-by-step guide for DIY application.

You will need port and National Population birth certificate.

No, you will pick a date for capturing after making payment the available dates that are not cancelled or asterisk are the days you can pick while those that are cancelled are booked already.

3. After capturing, like how long does it take for the port to be ready for collection?

Honestly I don't have an idea as it depends on the state you did the capturing. My sister did hers in Ilorin in January and it was ready in February, I did mine in February in NIS HQ in Abuja here, I will check back by ending of this month to know if it's ready.

4. During the online application, what's the mode / means of payment. And must payment be made from the applicants number? For instance, can the applicant transfer money from a friend's number for the payment? Or must the payment come from her/ his number?

It must not necessarily be from your but the most important thing is that whichever you will be using, the ATM card must be Mastercard. It initial fee is 35k but since it's online payment there was a bank charge of 1400 or 1600 can't really the amount.

The approval status in my application slip is still showing waiting for approval. Is that a cause for concern? My biometrics is next week Wednesday at Ikoyi office. Hope Ikoyi is DIY friendly

1. Print your Application form with photocopy, Payment Receipt with photocopy, Appointment form with photocopy, NIN photocopy with original, local govt original and birth certificate original

2. No, they'll send you an email after they've gone through it...then it will be approved/vetted. Then you'll have to book an appointment date

3. Go there after at least one month if you didn't fast track it to be on the safer side.

4. Use paystack...doesn't matter where you pay from. You pay with your atm card

Wait till NIS sends you an email that it has been vetted /approved. It doesn't matter if you go after the appointment date.

It's port picture I'm talking about here not the international port oo because as at last month when I ed I ed my port picture as part of the requirements for the application.

I'm at this stage right now, do I need to go enrollment center to proceed further

Please I need help, My son captured at alimosho port office on Dec 18 and went there for collection on 30th Jan , only to be told that they can't find my son's port but its been produced. I was told to go to Alausa to check for it and was also told its not at alausa (production office) after searching their office for it that i should go back to Alimosho and tell them to look for it.

My sister captured in December too at ALAUSA.

We got there today. They misplaced the enrollment slip we gave them. When we noticed her name was not mentioned, she met the officer and he asked us to show him soft copy . He confirmed that the port should be ready that we should go and reprint and take it to Room 10.

We reprinted and took to room. The boss their asked someone to check. The officer said he couldn't found it and we were asked to me Servicom.

Servicom checked the system and asked us to go back to the collection room.

We met the boss and explained things to him. He asked another officer to check the status of the enrollment. The officer checked the system and said : "ED". The boss told us that the port is up but it has not been brought down that we should amcome back in the next three weeks .

Very stressful!!!!

I did my capturing in December last year but I have been going to the immigration service office but they keep telling me it has not been brought to their office, that it's still at ikoyi.

It's 3 months now and still no positive response.

Please has anyone experienced this and how did you go about resolving it?

Captured on Jan 22 and the issue date on my port was February 10

It cost 3k, excluding convenience fee.
