As long as everyone continues to use importer rather than local goods. The demand for fx will always stack higher than the naira....

From your gate to your living room to your bedroom everyone uses 90% imported in their homes. Even when local is available and cheaper. We all still opt for these imported items.......

We all know the solution but the fruit of corruption is to steal as to use all that glitters that is not gold....

Buy local to grow the Naira.

And it is still the same corruption that has our fx rising because our main trade partner is China and we should be concerned about the yen but our loans and corruption is in dollars.

Buy local...

Where are the local products in the market that we have abandoned?

Mention ten items which are local that we should buy more often to boost the power of the naira.

Did you have to announce the plans first?

Tinubu is either scared of some people or he loves them too much to the detriment of Nigeria. Currency hoarders are making a mockery of your government, you are forming liberal, and don't want to take action.

you dey mind him. Local producers are very greedy people. If not why can’t cement be sold for 4k? Why did they settle for 7k to 8k? If I were the president, I’ll open border and lift duties on importation of cement immediately

Raise it from where? Donation or from the money you stole from lagos?

Still wondering how people voted this thief who made a whole state meant for the populace; his own property.

Even if you raise 100 billion dollars.

As long as there are a few Nigerians with 10 billion naira cash at home, they will change it to dollars in no time.

And we are back to square one......The Banks are complicit as well, our banks need the "sanusi" treatment, Flush out culpable CEO/MD's

You have to address the looters, the corrupt officials, the money launderers, the currency traffickers, the currency hoarders.

Stop pretending they dont exist or they are untouchable.

These people are making a fool of your government and your strategies. You are now spending more than the "removed" subsidy to stabilize the naira....lol

Exactly! If Fg cant fight corruption Nigeria will remain the same.

First of all, with the wastefully expensive style of Government being run by BAT, it will be easier for a mosquito to Manchester United than for this Government to raise 100million usd ... not to now mention 10Billion usd. grin

Nigerians should prepare for unprecedented hardships, because this istration are undisputedly clueless on how to address this mess they caused.

Imagine Shettima talking about the government raising funds grin
Focusmind: 6:18am On Feb 21, 2024
To even be making these statements through Shettima makes it to be another political statement. I expected this kind of major intervention to come directly from the president's mouth. Currency devaluation is the major challenge Nigeria is facing now and it is only the president or at worst, the CBN governor, that should be giving statement on what the government is doing to stabilise it.
Teymanhenry(f): 6:21am On Feb 21, 2024
Poor calculations by a so-called ant and his team. Seems Nigeria will end up spending more money subsidizing other goods than fuel itself.
Ken4Christ: 6:21am On Feb 21, 2024
The FH don't even know where their problem is coming from. How does raising 10 billion naira stabilize the exchange rate. Even if it does, is it a permanent solution. Will it bring the value of naira to what it was in the Late 70s and early 80s. The Western world has made us perpetual slaves and we are dancing to their tones.

Our leaders don't have the will power to do what it right because the situation doesn't affect them. They seat on the wealth meant for everyone and squander it. They are so myopic in their thinking.

The way forward is industrial revolution. And stop exporting our products in Naira. We are worshipping dollars. It must stop.

BOOST NAIRA LIQUIDITY.

Acidosis(m): 7:12am On Feb 21, 2024
I saw the Naira rise to N1400 against the USD in my dream. So we may actually get some results.

The plan should be to leave the country or protect yourself before BAT and his cronies exhaust the N10bn and the resultants gains. The aftermath of these superficial gains will be tragic.

Someone should tell this man that campaign is over , he is now in charge of governance and action needs to be taken instead of promises. Less talk and more action. People want to see things working not the opposite. Take action and stop saying we will.

OGa there is more to our problem than local production, mind you when our borders were fully opened and little or no ban on items .... our Naira was Stronger than most africa countries and food were cheap.

Since Govt came up with measures to reinstate local production its being hardship upon hardship, since buhari started it we have gained absolutely nothing

looking back local production as being a curse to Nigerians cos nothing works here
