Yes, to the best of my knowledge, you need a COS to extend your work visa even if its with thesame employer.

My Insurance asked me for a no claim proof here in the UK, anything outside UK isn’t accepted by them and I’ve already signed a contract with them before they told me that. I just called their customer and explained to the guy that as at when i was looking for quotes at Confused.com, it wasn’t indicated that it must be a UK no claim bonus only. I just renegotiated the deal and they added £50 on top the £1080 they charged before with their service fee. That’s the easier route for me because i and my previous Insurance in the Country i used to live, parted ways on a bad note. I no fit dare call their number for anything.

Please did you get this £1080+50 with UK full license or provisional license? Tx

For NCD, I put 13yrs (Naija) and I know someone who’s asking for 65k to prepare the authentication and record document from FRSC. It looks like Canada immigrants are the ones that need the document. Is it worth purchasing the document to reduce my UK insurance? Would they accept it in place of a NCD proof? Will it make a huge difference to justify the 65k naira (£37) spend? Thanks in advance

Seriously?? Didn't know this o. Does this mean someone with a domiciliary care CoS for example can apply and also hold a care home CoS without switching? You mean it's possible to have two employers? Kindly clarify...

They can apply for civil service roles covering legal (many employ you with your Nigerian LLB/BL and give ~two years to convert), compliance, GRC etc. It's mostly dependent on what their prior experience is.

You should apply for your ILR no more than 28 days before the expiry of your work visa. If you wait till it expires then you must extend it before applying.

At the time of application you should have ed your life in the UK test.

Check the email notification from HO with respect to your last cos application. It is documented there.

Yes. By the time you clock exactly 5 years. Your ILR application should ideally already be with the Home Office

FRSC has NO business issuing out NCDs.

2. Are you going to be applying for and obtaining this document from the FRSC directly? Will you be obtaining FRSC receipts and other documentation from this person?

These points are important because even if you scale though the mostly automated process and get a policy but insurance claims adjusters challenge your NCD when you need to make a claim here in the UK, you'll need to prove it beyond saying 'somebody on Nairaland said...'

The answers to those questions should indicate why the person you quoted said what they said, and I daresay, they'll also give you the overall answer to your question.

Oga, it’s third party insurance in Nigeria. I never did anyone myself by going personally to insurance office, except one year I did comprehensive with Axa mansard (new car). I used our office plug for car paper renewals (road worthiness, insurance etc.). Total cost back then was 5 - 15k. I’ve now ed the office plug (FRSC staff) and he’s offered me the driver record document, he says that’s what is obtainable. I explained it’s for NCD and he claims yes that’s what they give people (his customers, I.e my former colleagues). He showed me a sample and it was addressed to someone in Canada. If you ask me the name of the insurance companies I used for 3rd party, I have no idea, they’re mushroom coys. Not convinced by the guys story, I wanted to know if I should proceed or not. I think I’ve gotten my answer from Google. Thanks

Read my response in my previous post. It’s an authentic document. Ask folks in Canada, they use it. Everything is not fraud fgs. I only asked an innocent question if it’s applicable in UK, and the answer is clear to me…NO. I don’t have record of all the 3rd party insurance coys I used over the years, if not I would have gone directly. But posters couldn’t stop themselves from assuming forgery was the case here (wrong). Lazy stereotype. We need to do better especially when we demand more from others.

Do you have a link to the FRSC website or any other official communication where this document is discussed? Something to the police character certificate, port, etc?

I haven't said it's forgery. It's you who's seeing allegations of forgery everywhere and I can only wonder why.
