Good point but not always correct as some peoples breakthrough are rooted in their marriage. I have advised a friend to get marry to his fiance after he was in labour market for 9 years without a job until he started a small business. He got a woman who was a primary school teacher and I just felt his breakthrough may come when he gets married. I even sponsored their wedding and 3 years after they got America lottery visa and relocated abroad. Fortunate enough he got a good job over there even with the certificate that he could not get employment with in Nigeria . The day he bought a new car over there he called to thank me for encouraging him to take the right decision.

In the Bible, Jacob, Isaac and Joseph were Financially Bouyant before thinking of Marrying.

The pattern has changed, back then we had a less corrupt system (government) which made life more easier than today current system and hardship.
Also couple of decades ago most men were into farming, fishing (agricultural stuff) which can feed you and ur family effortlessly.

You can't compare both. we're the major cause of poverty in Nigeria before government. our mentality as Africans is so wack reason why we're a third world country. Most average Nigerian consider age for marriage. once a man is getting close to 40 and he's poor, he'd be considering marriage. Even if he'll stay in his father's house. That is why poverty will forever keep growing in Nigeria. He will get married and hope the children will bring blessings or any of the children might growup and become Dangote😂

There's this guy in my neighborhood, he should be in his early or mid 40s, he's a security guard who barely feed. he lives in his father's house. he was given a room self contain. he impregnated a lady and brought her home. the lady has put to bed. i heard he has left the security job and was given a bike to ride on hirepurchase. That is how poverty keep growing because another generation has come in with additional mouth to feed

in every 100 poor people in Nigeria, hardly will 10 among them escape poverty at the end. The rest obviously die poor and the baton to their children

some get married having known that they're poor so it'd be suicidal to them not to have a child or children. to them they felt they've lost in both sides if they didn't have a child.

Going to school is not basically to get job. it's far beyond that. Just pray you don't find yourself in such situation. It is very easy for us to judge from distance. There are some that works all their lives but can't make it, so at 40 or 45, you don't tell them to remain single for life just because they are yet to make it.

I know someone who was afraid of getting married but now 43yrs old withiout a wife. I also know a guy who married with an average income but now doing very well in UK. Sometimes, being married bring out the best from you because you have bills to pay. It make you focus on your goals and works harder.

What I hate most is when you keep giving birth to children you can't cater for.
