Then Disaster Struck;
1ST CONCORDE’S CRASH: THE BEGINING OF THE END( AIR FLIGHT 4590 OF 25TH JULY 2020) :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zeDsSJmM?si=U1WPmmOrtyZpGnve

On 25 July 2000, Air Flight 4590, a Concorde enger jet on an international charter flight from Paris to New York, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 109 people on board and four on the ground. It was the only fatal Concorde accident during its 27-year operational history.

Whilst taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport, the aircraft ran over debris on the runway, causing a tyre to explode and disintegrate. Tyre fragments, launched upwards at great speed by the rapidly spinning wheel, violently struck the underside of the wing, damaging parts of the landing gear – thus preventing its retraction – and causing the integral fuel tank to rupture. Large amounts of fuel leaking from the rupture ignited, causing a loss of thrust in the left-hand-side engines 1 and 2.

The aircraft lifted off, but the loss of thrust, high drag from the extended landing gear, and fire damage to the flight controls made it impossible to maintain control. The jet crashed into a hotel in nearby Gonesse two minutes after takeoff. All nine crew and 100 engers on board were killed, as well as four people in the hotel. Six other people in the hotel were critically injured.[2][3]

In the wake of the disaster, the entire Concorde fleet was grounded. It returned to service on November 7, 2001, following the implementation of various modifications to the airframe, but to limited commercial success. The type was finally retired by Air in May 2003 and by British Airways in November of the same year.

It is really sad that the era of a supersonic marvel of speedy air transportation the Concorde depict will suddenly came to an abrupt end because of the Paris crash. God rest the souls of those lost to that disaster

As they say, if you commit 100 acts & 99 of them are good, the Only one that's bad will tarnish and envelope all 99 actions making it look like you did not tangible. This plane was operational 27 years and just once within the 27 years it had a ghastly problem, that ended its reign. RIP to all those that perished. They could have just made modification & allow it to keep being used. Atleast cars in the past used to be less safe including some other gadgets & machineries until these gadgets were modified to guarantee safety. But nah let's trash it.

Used to read about Concorde planes as a kid. Super fast but poor safety mechanisms.

RIP to all the lost souls

Why has Boeing not come to an end even after killing more people?

Up till now, no supersonic enger aircraft, trans-Atlantic flight ✈️ at supersonic speed without needing to refuel is a record to be broken.

It's back already sef. It should be launched latest by 2025. The plane is smaller and speed is less than Mach 2 which is still fantastic

The cost of keeping the concorde flights safe after the accident brought an end to the concorde experience. The planes were aging and the maintenance cost skyrocketed, they no longer make economic sense with other alternatives around.

In my opinion I think the Concode was retired prematurely due to the uproar that greeted the only crash in its history undecided
