The United States government has placed a visa ban on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Olukayode Ariwoola, and six other of the Supreme Court of Nigeria over their delivery of controversial and inciting judgments. Besides Ariwoola, the other apex court justices whose identities were revealed by a highly placed source, are Musa Dattijo Mohammed, Centus Nweze and Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun. It was learnt their ban was connected to questionable judgements they gave, including the controversial judgment that made Senator Hope Uzodinma governor of Imo State in 2020, as well as the judgements that recognised Senate President Godswill Akpabio and his predecessor Senator Ahmed Lawan as winners of their senatorial elections. Recall that Uzodimma who came fourth in the 2019 governorship election was controversially declared winner of election by the Supreme Court. In the case of Lawan and Akpabio, the Supreme Court ruled, in separate judgements, that both senators, who didn’t participate in their party’s (All Progressives Congress) primary election are the party’s senatorial candidates. Lawan and Akpabio were presidential aspirants at the time the party held primaries for their senatorial districts which legally ruled them out of the senatorial contest. While they both stepped down for Bola Tinubu who later won the presidential ticket, senatorial candidates had emerged from their senatorial zones to represent the party in the election. https://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/controversial-judgements-us-slams-visa-ban-on-cjn-ariwoola-nweze-musa-dattijo-3-others/ 5 Likes 1 Share |

Our Judges are LEGAL ENTREPRENUERS! They serve justice for a fee or favour. It's time we hired FOREIGN JUDGES and judicial expert from Kenyan to come here and overhaul the judiciary for us. When Buhari overthrow the Justice Onnoghen, that was the end of JUDICIARY and Justice in Nigeria!! 4 Likes 1 Share |

If this is true then this could embodens the CJN to give more controversial judgment at the Supreme Court

The way the judiciary is going,a time will come when this democracy will backfire and there would be chaos in the entire nation. How can someone make one man a governor when it is clear that he didn't win the election. If ABBA kyari is not in hell fire because of that ugly pronouncement by the supreme cour judges, where exactly could he be now? U made someone who came 4th the governor, what a magic! 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Paragon311: While we blame the judiciary, let the Lawmakers and the Constitution take the bigger blame The judges can or will only bend the rules, assuming they were bribed to the loopholes in the Constitution. The Lawmakers are smart, they'll purposely create a loophole in the Constitution, these loopholes becomes their escape route and the judges will settle for the loopholes and capitalize on it to give their judgements |

Paragon311: Tinubu is waiting for another Abracadabra judgement to confirm him president of Nigeria; abracadabra judgement from the Supreme Court Judges mostly appointed by APC, and are acting like unofficial of the APC. Religious bigotry even at the highest quarters of Nigeria's government, is gradually killing all in Nigeria and the country itself. Despite that APC drove Nigeria to become the official poverty capital of the world, people well placed to reckon with this fact still struggle to keep APC in apex political leadership of Nigeria. Nigeria's voters rejected APC during the last presidential election, but because of Buhari's inordinate ambition for a 24 unbroken years of Muslim presidency for Nigeria, INEC officials appointed by APC rigged in Tinubu of APC as succeed Buhari, and asked others to go to court if they want to court; because Tinubu influenced the appointments of many of the Supreme Court judges of today. |

Looks like the judiciary is the next to get discredited. Discrediting one of the best election we had in this country wasn't enough, they moved to jamb, a great exam body and they failed woefully. Judiciary is next. I wonder if there will be news like this if chief justice name is chukwumbakwe. Children of perdition are on rampage. 2 Likes 1 Share |
