Good evening beautiful people, please I have a question. I apply for a say 5 year visitor visa for my mum.

I want to understand how it really works. The maximum stay of a visitors visa is 6 months. If for example she stays for 5 months and goes back to Nigeria and then she comes back after 1 month and then stays 5 months, has she violated any visa rules?

What is the best way to maximise the use of this visa.

Probably because it’s not a profession that’s on the shortage occupation list. Although there’s a high demand for ants, there’s also sufficient pool of ants locally to meet the demand so no need for sponsorship and recruiting form abroad.

Secondly some of the jobs in industry require solid UK experience and knowledge unlike auditing where procedures are more standardised hence more transferable skills.

I am actually talking about sponsorship for those already in the UK. I somewhat agree with you about the pool and i think it's easier to get into the profession after highschool and get trained till you get qualified

Sponsorship for those in UK and recruiting from abroad are practically the same thing to an employer. Same process, same documentation and costs required in of visas and COS etc

Why would they go through the stress of sponsorship when there’s a pool of qualified ants who as you mentioned have risen through the rank and file as school leavers and have the requisite knowledge and experience they need.

I think it used to be possible to right ICAN exam in London about a decade. You might want to ICAN or do a further research

She technically hasn't but if you becomes too frequent she can be denied entry and sent back . I am talking from personal experience as my mum was almost sent back. The luck I had was that they called first as they were denying entry and I was able to convince them to allow with conditions .

While ICAN in theory is equivalent to cima, acca, icaew. In practice some recruiters could look down on ican so your focus should be the uk chartered ancy qualification.

You can do a conversion for icaew and cima with ican but I think you need a few years of experience (post qualification I think).

Acca is more straightforward

Check dvla between 6-7 on Monday morning. Also some apps like testi will help you spot open dates

Don't think there should be an issue mentioning the Job title. Its fine if you don't mention the employer and i agree to that but not the role. You might have not mentioned the job if you didn't want to mention at least the job title as its expected for people to ask such

I came in, I cleaned up my Cv with resume-now dot come ,and applied to Jobs that match my history experience and desired pathway. I applied to over 30 per day. Indeed, company sites, Cv library, etc. anywhere wey work posting Dey. I also called companies and recruitment agencies.

I also walked round the city for Posters and job posts

I also had a cv (I put in informal experiences) to apply for care roles, because I can do anything legal to pay my bills.

I was lucky to immediately get one that matches what I desired, which is the desired pathway.

This looks like a good plan to me if you can afford the airfares. BTW what visa plan are you on? Are you settled? Perhaps you should look at applying for her to stay long term as someone who requires special care which you and your wife would provide ...you can research more on this.

What I did was to show an statement with enough money to cover the flight fare and some miscellaneous expenses and then added my payslip and accomodation contract to show I can accommodate her and take care of her while here. First visit was for almost 5 months.

You can bring as soon as possible but you dont need make plans of marriage because you want to get your partner to be with you (Mentioned because i have seen it happen often) Actually you bring your partner through an "Unmarried Partner" route. You just need to show evidence of living together for 2 years through a tenancy agreement where both names will be included, t bank or t insurance coverage plan

Thing is, I need to know what my chances are of bringing my partner(not married) over for

1) a visit
Or
2) me permanent.

2 is based on when/if we get married.

For the visit, what do I need please? What steps do I need to take and how long do I have to apply?

Also, if we go down the marriage route, how long do I have to bring my partner in as I've heard things like before 3 months to the end of your course or something.

It shouldn't but then there is also no harm in estimating a more accurate duration.

I just make sure I follow the guidelines. First was to stay for around 4 months, she ended up staying for 5months +. Renewed and stayed for about 5 months. Subsequent one was 2years visa which she used twice. Can't how long each visit lasted.

Naaaah ....closest is Au Pair but restricted to EU citizens I think but not sure
