February 2023. Mine is to visit my family.Eligibility has not started too. Background check started since April 19. So I am just curious to know if anyone that had an update on the 19th of April has gotten PPR

Since 2021,I just got response from IRCC. My application is still in progress, biometric validity has been approved. I'm yet to get PPR and a request for new port came because the former expired. Few days after, he said the application can't be submitted without paying $100. I don't have details he has it.

All he has to do is take the sowp ppr letter with him when he is traveling to Canada he should inform cbsa officers and show them the letter he would be stamp sowp sticker at entry ... Or rather still go to any Canada/Us border for stamping its just 30mins stuff no need for vfs delay

Most people prefer to pay when they reach the hotel, you can make reservations.

I am a PR applicant and my application is still in progress.
However, my wife is pregnant due to give birth soon.
Our concern is that she lives alone in Canada and will need the of her mother Inlaw(my mother) for omugwo.

1. Please is it possible to apply for a visiting visa for my mother while my application is still in progress?
2. Can she invite her mother inlaw with just her employment details but a low balance and still state that she will be responsible for her upkeep?
3. Is it mandatory that the VV applicant must have some money in her ?
Lastly, can we state in that application that she will be visiting for the purpose of postpartum care and that she will be staying for 3months

Please, can anyone advise on the best way to go about this?

1) Yes, she can invite her
2) She can’t claim to be her sponsor without enough funds. There must be enough funds to finance her stay. POF and home tie is the most important part of visit visa.
3) Not necessary since she’s not financing her trip, if she has something in her it’s not bad. You can also state she’s going for postpartum care but I will suggest she declare 1 month. 3 months is much and also the funds available is limited. She can choose to stay up to 6 months when she gets to Canada, she can also apply for visitor record if she choose to stay longer than 6 months.

A friend had his port missing! Few days later BVL and ppr landed. He has got a new port replaced but different port number! How should he go about it with ircc with the ppr expiring in 10 days ?

We have been thinking of doing this because of the VFS delay in sending back port. We just don’t know if it will be possible for the officer to attend to the sowp when coming in.

These are the steps;
Step 1:
Call this number with the Viber app: +1-800-267-6788, it's ircc client call center number.


Step 2:
Press 1 to use the service in English.


Step 3:
Press 2 to connect to ircc

Step 4: after connection to ircc, you would listen to a message for about 30 seconds just be patient till they tell you the buttons to press. You'll be asked to input your uci number if you have, just to save time press 2 that you do not have a uci. Although when you connect to the client call center agent he/she will ask you to provide your application details which includes application number, uci number and other relevant information.
Point to note: if you're calling in for someone you'll have to fill in the ircc imm5455 consent form.

Step 5:
after step 4, you'll listen another message again like step 4 be patient till they tell you which numbers to press. press 3


Step 6:
after that the next number you'll press is 1 to talk to make enquiry about your study permit application or press 2 to make an enquiry about your PR application.


Step 7: the final number to press is 0 to speak to an agent.

There's no need to call anyone. Just send a message including a copy of the new port using the webform and email. Having done this, send the new port immediately for stamping.

Send the updated information through webform. If possible, attached evidence showing his true identity; preferably an affidavit stating JMLA and JLM is one and the same person, but now wish to be known and addressed as JLM.

Yes, it is advisable you do that. You can submit a one page official letter via webform and probably refill that section and attach. It helps their application as it will get difficult to defend if they detect it and write your parents before you notify them.

1.  Should I send the same notarized letter we submitted when we applied OR should we send a new one with the today's date?

2. Do we need to notarize the new consent letter?

3. We stated our travel date (April) in the consent letter we submitted when we applied, if we are to write a new one, can we state the new travel date or leave it out?

Kindly assist my gurus in the house🙌

If you read previous posts or comments here on nairaland, then you will know that this is nothing to worry about.

All you need to do is send a webform to update his profile with the new port, then send the new port to the VFS application center whenever he receives the port request letter.
