Presidential election of MArch is different to this in many respect.
1. Result from each state were concluded by the State returning officers before coming to Lagos. There was no controversy at that stage.
2. Once all results are presented to the National Returning officer (INEC Cahriman), he is obligated under the law to conclude the process.
3. In the case of Adamawa, the INEC REC tried to prevent the collation and announcement of results from the various LGAs, which is against the regulations. What the returning officer did is to allow the system run its course and we have a clear winner.
4. It is important to question why the returning officer for RiverS State allowed or did not do due dilligence on the results presented to him before annoucing results that showed APC won. I think the Rivers State returning officer, the REC and others who are culpabale should be prosecuted.
Mahmouh Yakubu did what was needful by proceeding with the collation and announcement of a Presidential winner.

Stop disgracing yourself...the REC does not have the constitutional power to declare the result. It's the sole duty of the Returning Officer. Kudos to INEC for arresting this attempted rape on democracy. Other RECs will learn from this. Even Binani knew she lost the election....she wasn't reading her acceptance speech with confidence expected of a winner. Congratulations to Fintiri and the Adamawa people!
