Yes, I am aware of blacklisted phones, and If I wanted one I could have gotten it for a much cheaper price than what I paid you.

I knew always to stay away from them as they have been involved in some kind of Illegal activities.

And I DO NOT want a part of it.
Rawlingsko:

Bros, this person is not a novice.
Don't forget he asked me if the IMEI was clean before he made payment.

Note: This is not his first purchase from me. He talked about Clean imei in our previous dealings, so also this one.
He is fully aware of phones being blacklisted

With the bolded, you surely know little or nothing about blacklisted phones.

You are still not getting it chief, you can buy a clean imei phone from usa,UK or Europe today by your self and get it shipped to Nigeria by your self. You might use it for a month or two and the next thing it will be blacklisted after few months.

He sold the phone to you with a clean imei, he didnt plan to sell a blacklisted phone to you. He didnt know if it will be blacklisted. Even a prophet or a babaalawo cannot tell you when a phone will be blacklisted.
Don't push this too far ,na solution we dey find here.

Alright let’s find a solution and fix this matter.

I really wish it was Rawlingsko himself doing all these explaining, what pissed me off is the fact he just showed little to no remorse to the whole situation and just says I should be 100% responsible for this.
Even when I told him, his response was for me to get it fixed.
He did not even bother to explain why I paid for a clean imei and got a blacklisted one.
And with this, I can assume he was fully aware the item would eventually get blacklisted BEFORE he sold the phone.

So, a clean phone can't be blacklisted?
Assuming you got the phone in Nigeria on the 17th of December and the phone got blacklisted on the 19th of December. What would you have done?

I was fully aware that the phone will eventually get blacklisted? How? Explain please.

Is this the first carrier locked phone you purchased from me. Why didn't the previous one get blacklisted?
Kindly tell the house
amolan: 1:13am On Jan 03, 2023
I don't understand the defense you're trying to present.

In our initial conversations when I first ed you to request the TLC 12 Pro, you were the one who encouraged me that it was a good idea to purchase a locked phone because it could easily be unlocked once it was locked to T-Mobile with a clean IMEI.

At the time, I had no idea what that meant, but I trusted you and made sure to confirm that the phones I was getting had clean IMEIs because I thought you were here to guide me as a reputable seller.

You can see in the screenshots below, I was asking for websites to check IMEIs and you even gave me the of someone that checks IMEI.

However, now you seem surprised that I always ask for phones with Clean IMEIs, claiming I am not a "Novice" with IMEIs.

I feel let down by your behavior because I trusted you as a novice in this field. This is very disappointing, especially coming from someone I believed was a trustworthy and reliable seller.

amolan: 1:17am On Jan 03, 2023
This is the same question I am asking you.

You should be the one to explain to the House why I paid for a Phone with A Clean IMEI and I got a STOLEN Phone.

Explain yourself.
Rawlingsko:

amolan: 1:29am On Jan 03, 2023
Thank you very much for stating this.

I believe Rawlingsko and his picker somewhat know the person that sold the phone to them and the fault is with the 3 parties involved.

His first response when I told him about the situation was ”Na wah o, You may consider selling the phone off”

Who says that to a claim of a potential Stolen Item that was purchased from you.

Did I tell you I wanted to sell the phone off ?

I simply don’t understand why he keeps insisting he would not take any responsibility for this and I should bear the burden alone.

Yes I am looking to get this resolved, But Rawlingsko wants me to take Full Responsibility of a Problem I did not cause.

That I would not take.

Nicerazor:
It’s obvious you’re new to this business.
Did you confirm imei status before making payment or not?
A seller can intentionally blacklist a device after selling so he can get a replacement phone from his service provider, this doesn’t mean the phone was stolen but a dishonest seller caused it.
You can remove the blacklist status.
What if you bought the phone yourself and it got blacklisted? Who will you blame? If you checked imei and it was clean before buying then you can’t blame deal hunter unless he sold a blacklisted phone to you without your knowledge.

Dear Nairalanders,
I am writing to bring to your attention a troubling situation that I am currently facing.

On December 3rd, Rawlingsko d a 13 pro phone that was locked to T-Mobile. I ed him on December 10th to inquire about the phone and he assured me that it was still available and that the IMEI was clean with no blacklist records,
with this in mind, I went ahead and made the Payment on 10th December 2022.

However, upon receiving the phone here in Nigeria on the 31st of December and attempting to unlock it, I discovered that the Phone had been marked as stolen or not delivered by a T-Mobile customer on the 19th of December,2022.

I immediately ed Rawlingsko on 1st January 2023, hoping that we could resolve this issue and find a way to sort it out between us. Unfortunately, he refused to take any responsibility and claimed that the ownership of the phone was transferred to me the moment I bought it from him. He said, “The moment you bought the phone off me, the ownership was transferred to you.”
I am concerned and frustrated by this turn of events, as I DO NOT want to associate with a STOLEN item because I initially planned on using this phone for Personal Use and I am not to be held responsible for this phone.

I am bringing this matter to the attention of Nairalanders in the hopes of finding a resolution.
Thank you for your time and consideration."

This is not his problem

You bought a TMobile device that he told you was clean. You confirmed it's clean with IMEI and paid. Phone's blacklisted 9 days after it's confirmed clean. You didn't process unlock, you waited for it to land.

That's not the seller's problem. Problem is fully yours to shoulder.

I have about 8 TMobile phones that were clean on payment and blacklisted on route cos I was on vacation and didn't have my token to pay for unlock. You dinor see me whyning to seller.

This case isn't a dispute. Sell the device as chip unlock, clean device or use as is. Take your loss like a man.

Thanks and happy new year

Naah, you can’t pin this on him. He made full disclosure before selling the item to you. He gave you the imei and you carried out due diligence before agreeing to make payment.

This in itself absolves him of any issue regarding a blacklist in the nearest future there on. I’m sorry bro, you’d have to live with the decision you made.

See sample below,na today o grin
it's even T-Mobile they can remove the blacklist record for a fee.
It has a 5 days warranty so it's not guaranteed after the stated days.
I don't see why you should be bothered about a blacklist status of a phone when you are in Nigeria.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, are you saying that I should bear the responsibility for this situation?

As a criminologist and criminal Investigator, I would have thought you would know better than to suggest that I keep a STOLEN item. I clearly stated that I only wanted to use this for personal use, and I'm surprised to hear you implying that I should just keep it and move on.

You are obviously a new person in this business.
One question, did you at any point in time try to understand buying Tlc items and the cons involved in buying phones or laptops on Tlc before going ahead to buy it because if you did your research well, you wouldn’t be in this dispute thread with this kind of query. As long as imei was clean and you also confirmed it clean as at time of purchase, that absolves deal hunter already. When it comes to imei blacklist, it’s a 50:50 thing. More like a gamble. You can’t blame deal hunter because imei was clean as at time of purchase.

It's very obvious the buyer is a novice/Newbie I. This line of business...

Buying a locked clean iPhone... Is a 50/50 gamble... There is a probability it might get blacklisted anytime especially the ones with apple ➕ .. Even during the process of unlocking.. It can be blacklisted... And when such happens.. The buyer takes full responsibility of it.. Cause it's a gamble.. You either win or you lose..

And also buyer... @amolan it does not mean a stolen phone was sold to you.. Try and understand this business pros and cons.. So you don't falter.. On a normal ground this issue is meant to not be in this thread.. Your meant to take full responsibility of it.. Buh as a novice.. If @rawlingsco is able to help out.. It's optional for him not a must.. Try liaising with him... Instead of blaming or accusing him..

Imei blacklist is a 50:50 thing.
I bought my network locked iPhone 13 brand new sealed, yet it was blacklisted. I did not even bother messaging the deal hunter because imei was clean when I bought it.

Clearly the buyer didn’t have any idea that it’ll/it can be blisted enroute to 9ja

What it kill the seller to relay that information to buyer or he’s scared the buyer would back out !

I’ve learnt a lot from and the most important is that this dispute thread is a clown fiasco

Lol. Do you think TLC is an insurance policy?

If you want something cheaper, you also take the risks.

If he wanted a clean TMobile iPhone, why didn't he buy in Nigeria? Or better still why didn't he buy an unlocked phone?

You mean the seller should give the book of rules of buying a locked phone which technically it's illegal to do in the first place?

Buying anything TLC from a seller simply means have an idea of what you're buying and he did. He's looking for a way out..

So a seller shouldn't explain what the locked deal entails
I'm 100% sure if he explained to him the buyer will back down
He came back because of the former deal/sale he had with rawlingsko that everything was perfect.

Maybe the buyer was consumed by greed (everybody is).. but rawlingsko never explained in details how phones are blacklisted.
