MOST OF THEM ARE NOT ENGINEERS NEITHER ARE THEY BUILDERS OR BUILDING CONSULTANTS..they have no idea in relation to building and construction..please I will advice:

(1) Before you anyone on this thread or forum please be 101% sure you have done your own private investigation. You may be dealing with a yahoo Yahoo student behind a keyboard or a resident serial fraudster.

(2) Don't Mr A because Mr B ed him and they had a 'perfect' dealing. There is something called 'organized crime', they may be playing to a script so do your own investigation.

(3) Some recently created s belong to already known 'famous' fraudsters. We made them popular, so they disguise in return to lure unsuspecting victims.

The price is on the high side(though I don't know the type of cable he wanted to Use), but the quotations is over_quoted.
Tell him to reduce the quotations.

I expected this Mention but not in this manner of reaction especially from You but ALL IS WELL. One of the reasons why building a House is so easy for me is because I always sourced most of my materials directly from the company or importers. I don't deal with middle Man.

The only means to conquer all these artisans Over-quoted Quotations/Price esp Electricians is by requesting for 2-3quotatins from different People then compare them together.
And don't ever go by yourself to source for cables esp the Popular product if the seller sensed that you've no knowledge of it. He would firstly bring out fake to sell for you at the Original price.

Let me ask you also , if you had a land or 03 to 06 Corolla you bought 1 year ago and dint , would you sell at current values or the price of 1 year ago . I think most times we complain because we are at the receiving end . Can you also direct your grievances to people selling dollar at 700 to 800 now compared to 500/600 last year

I think what must have happened is inventory of old stocks must have been low or exhausted ,maybe stocks over 6 months in the country and serious adjustments just happened recently at say the dollar price of 3 to 4 months ago for newer stocks . Some might have also factored current replacement cost or use an average , not saying people will not exploit the situation further

There is absolutely nothing in Nigeria price change has not affected and it’s ongoing, weekly , monthly, it’s that bad . Raw Food , fmcg , transport , Vehicles , diesel , sand . Name one thing not affected outside petrol that is subsidized

Let me give a rough example for the 1st bolded: Vendor A, bought products at ₦2000 per unit when $ BM rate was ₦400, while selling product for ₦3500 per unit to consumers, when dollar$ increased to ₦500, Vendor A, still has 400units of products he bought from previous $ rate, which he's now selling for ₦5000 on the excuse of increased dollar�, meanwhile he bought new products at the new $ rate for ₦2,500 , when dollar drops to ₦450 Vendor A now selling products for ₦6K. if dollar fluctuate again to ₦475 , he increases products price to ₦6,500


2nd bolded, it happens, but the vendors are definitely selling on high price , the higher the $ rate, the higher increment on the price of products they sell.

There are people who will work for you without you calling them on phone one day or worrying about delivery. Just pay them and sleep

There are cable out there that's not up to 100meters in length they usually sell those ones cheaper but they won't tell you.
