Good evening. I'm trying to apply to Eastern Michigan Uni on gradCas but the only required document to be ed is CV. I didn't see any thing like SOP. My school (Unilag) has sent my transcript to WES and its being evaluated.

Any idea on how to go about this application will be appreciated. Thanks

What's are the documents required generally? If SOP and etc are documents listed on their webpage, i will advise you merge them together with the CV and submit it.

But if i am the visa officer, i may ask why this person is sponsoring(investing in) you. What's your relationship? Your maternal relation can be your sponsor, . So, you don't have to bear the same surname with your sponsor.

Google ielts test registration in Nigeria.
It takes 14 days for the results to be released (online). If you go for computer based, i think you will be able to see the results online within 3 days or so.

Yes he asked a valid question, what kind of assitabtshio are you looking for, RA, GA, TA... But I think it will be better if you let him suggest whats best fit for you (your academic profile). There are many unannounced assitantships, so share with him your academic strengths and gest what options he gives. You can as well indicate your interests to other departments (maybe as a grader, istrative personnel etc). The options are numerous.

Yes you can still get the visa. Although, it's a known fact that funding aids the visa approval process, however it's not a stand alone criteria. If I were the visa officer I would be wondering; this looks like an "escape route" for you to meet your husband.
So that brings about the question: what ties you back to Nigeria. You have kids? "going with them? Do you have a viable business in Nigeria? Any landed properties?
No one will tell you a direct answer to your question, but your situation is tilted a bit. You might want to evaluate iate your circumstances before sending your visa application.

One more question. You said your husband is working in the USA, if he has legitimate stay another option can be for him to file form I-130 for you.

FYI, there are more than 500 schools that we can apply to in USA.

The school that I am hoping to get the funding is Uni of Michigan- Ann Arbor. I have no idea about how to link you up other than you do your findings and apply there if you meet their requirements.

A Graduate school in US gave me application fee waiver because I told them that I am not financially bouyant to apply.

Recently, the graduate school said they had transferred my file to the department for ission recommendations. Anyway, without funding, i am not going to accept any offer from them.

My first question:
At what point can i request for I-20 for F2 applicants? Should in case I get funding, are they going to request for bank statement of before issuing i-20 for F2 applicants.

2nd question,
if i send them bank statement with my name on it, is it not going to look as if i am being dishonest with my financial situation. I applied to so many places last year without any funding btw. I just didn't want to waste my hard earned money this time.

Do you guys have PR? If the answer is no, this is beyond me. I think you will need to prove to VO about your home ties to Nigeria( country of citizenship since you are a temporary residents over there.
