My experience at the immigration office this morning in Abeokuta
I got to the office around 12:30pm I met the officers( all female officers) and I told them I’m here to submit my documents because my appointment date for capturing is 30th of august and they said okay I should meet one of the female officers to attend to me ...To cut the story short they told me all the documents I need to present then I brought them out..They said I will need to buy a file, a small envelope and I will have to write an application letter which I did from one of the business centers ( they already have the formats, Just give them your port) so getting back to the office after printing my application letter , the officer that was attending to me now said I can’t get the 30th of august that was stated on my appointment letter that I will get the middle of September..I was like wow � don’t you follow the printout, she said she has the final say that it’s what she write on the file that they will treat ...I was like this is serious ooo... I told her how I was in a rush to get my port done and she said what do I want her to do for me...Then I told her I want my own appointment date gangan ...That was when she said I should speak the language that she will understand...I already knew where she was helding to but I was still pretending...That was when she openly told me that I have to pay 5k so I can get my date...And she showed me files with 5k each in it ...That was when I had to cooperate too cos if I want to go strong head she will do what she wants to do...

How long does it take you from online application to data capturing?

They will collect your old port too and you will have to buy a small envelope and a file when you get there

Thats all.

That means you have to be around to submit your documents before the capturing date gangan.

How long does it take you from online application to data capturing?

My own application used about 3 weeks sha....it’s just that its the appointment date that is very hard to get which I ended up seeing 30th of august..And that was around June when I applied.

Choose expired. My own port still had about 8 months. But you will pay like 5k/10k as migration fee. This is to allow you renew your port before the 6 months expiry timeline.

It was a funny, stressful and wonderful experience. I didn't pay a kobo to any one from start to finish.
The challenge I faced was with the officers in the "FRONT OFFICE", they said I supposed to have open a file with them immediately I applied Online or two weeks to my capture date. I said, I didn't see that on their web-site. They now said I should pay 14k so that they can fast track the process or I should go and reapply for another capturing date online. I just told they I need to make a "CALL" outside... One of them just told me to go and see the "PCO". The PCO was a nice woman, she just gave them order to attend to me. That was how I did my capturing oOo.

That's too long ooo. I paid 60k at Oshogbo, Captured August 8th, called the woman doing it for me yesterday and she said my port is ready and that I can come to pick it up anytime from next week.

If people cab desist from fastrack, things would have been better

These officers are crook and just taking advantage of desperate port seekers

I think all Lagos port centre is now corrupt even when you fastrack, you are not sure of getting your port on time so it's waste of money to fastrack

I suggest people should look away from Lagos & think of other south west state

My last visit to port office makes me realized they are very corrupt

Whereas official rate is 26,000

Stamp is 500naira which makes 26500 but they charged you 60,000

Now, on 1appicants they makes 33,500

On 100 applicants they makes 3,350,000

This is number 1 reason why these officers are making things difficult for DIY applicants

Alausa port office recieves thousands of applicants on weekly basis same as other port offices

Why don't you just pay someone to do it for you? The process is a tedious one and I had someone do everything for me. I just travelled on my capture date and captured in less than 10 mins and my port came out in one week.

I captured since May 18 at the same Sauka, DIY.
Seems they want to frustrate me at production, this is August 11th, the port is still not ready. Those who didn't do DIY have collected theirs. So frustrating.

It can be really frustrating o, i collected mine yesterday.... How about you?

My port processing experience at NIS HQ Sauka, Abuja was better than i expected but not good enough though!

So i paid for the port online using my bank card in the month of April but to book appointment for vetting and capturing the earliest date i could find was Friday June 3rd, which i selected and then printed everything required.

Upon getting to the port processing facility few minutes to the time written on my appointment slip...

So after 12 weeks, 84 Days, 7million 257 thousand 600 seconds my port reached my hands.

My port Collection Experience at NIS HQ Sauka, Abuja, was something else.

After waiting 8 weeks from date of capture i was tired and then decided to visit the NIS HQ Sauka, to know whats going on, i was told by the officer who verifies at the collection centre that my port is still in production he then wrote E on the paper i gave him, i probed further to know what E means and was told thats the final stage of production, i left in disappointment.

Then at the 11th week of waiting i got a text from NIS clearly indicating that my port was ready for collection, i waited for the next morning and joyfully zoomed to the collection section at NIS HQ Sauka, Abuja. The officer at one of the counters checked and said i should submit to those at the collection room/store, after waiting for others in line when i gave them my paper the officers said it was too early for collection that i was supposed to wait for at least a week that they dont have my port yet, again i left in disappointment.

Then the 12th week after 8 days i went straight to the officers at the collection room and gave them my details on the sheet of paper then the officer told me to sit and wait for them to check, names where called for collection and people where trooping in and out, so after waiting close to 30 minutes the officer called my name i was really happy to hear my name but then the Officer said He cant find my port that i should check back in another weeks time, by now Anger don d enter me but i try control my anger and expressed my self that this was the same thing the other officer told me the previous weeks that what is going on? And immediately a very Kind Female Officer said its like she saw my name that i should wait She will check now within 2 minutes of checking She brought out my port, na so my Joy returned oooo, i thanked Her again and again(God bless the good officers). So i was then asked to it and Activate it at the other counter.

So we have good officers who do what is right and care about others then we have bad officers who care about their pockets!
The official timeline is not being adhered to, especially when you are following the right steps without bribing anyone.
