PLS HELP: SOMEONE TRYING TO MY WHATSAPPS NUMBER ON ANOTHER DEVICE.

A man claiming to be 'organizing a Zoom Meeting' for our staff I believe is out to scam or use my WhatsApp for criminal activities.

The man called me two days ago in the evening and said he has enrolled me for a meeting and I should send him a code he sent to my phone for verification.

From the start I knew he is a scammer but decided to play along and called him out when it comes to times he'd ask for some money to be sent to him.

I did called out to him the 6-number code sent to my phone, but upon reading the whole notification I realized that the message was from WhatsApp and the code was to be used to my WhatsApp number on another device. I Immediately set up a WhatsApp two step verification to forestall this.

About an hour after this, another notification arrived with another code and the man called me again. I flared up here telling him that he's a scammer and some angry words.

I don't know whether it is the 2 step verification I engaged my WhatsApp that prevented the initial registration or entry into my that necessitated the the second attempt to generate another code.

MY ISSUES NOW ARE:

1. How would I know whether they've succeeded in creating an with my number?

2. Would the WhatsApp 2 step verification prevent them from ing or entry if they've ed with the number?

3. How would I disable the if they've succeeded?

4. Would they have access to my s, in the event that they they succeeded?

5. Why would WhatsApp allow for another registration on another device when my current line is active on a device recognized by them?

I kindly need your assistance, as anyone out to possess other people's profiles needs it for criminal activities.

You people will never learn....

WhatsApp is more private and the hacking tendency is becoming high.... compare to Facebook as people aren't taking the platform anymore serious...

Try to run a two step verification and that will solve your problem and stop using GB WhatsApp

Modified..

Since you've done the two step verification on your phone.... Any attempt to will require the pin.

And you can't use one mobile number on to create two WhatsApp...

Relax... your WhatsApp is safe!

1. You'll know if your whatsapp has been successful logged Into another device, because it'll stop working in your current phone, till you reactivate it again.
2. Anyone can use your phone number to try and for whatsapp, but what they need to successfully do it is the sms OTP code sent to your line, and then if you do have 2 step on, they'll need your whatsapp security code.
3. If they somehow succeeded in getting your OTP and their in, you can reactive the whatsapp on your current phone, by requesting OTP again, and putting it In the current phone, so this will hijack the whatsapp back from him. If he has access to your sim, he can hijack it again, except you put on 2step
4. Nah, they can't see your old chats or s
But if someone sends you a message after the hack, they can see it and the person's number, though it'll appear unsaved
5. I mean, you don't have to deactive whatsapp on your second phone before activating on a new phone.
If they require you to deactivate before you can activate, it'll mean those with stolen or lost phones will loose their whatsapp forever.
So anyone can hijack your whatsapp if they have access to your sim that'll receive the OTP: or you send the OTP to them

You're safe with the Two step Verification if you don't share your code with anyone...
...
They can't access your remotely without the codes

1. But suppose the 2 step was after they succeeded in ing with my number, would setting it up from my side prevent them from accessing my ?

2. And again, why is the 2 step not asking me to provide the codes everytime I want to , but occasionally?

Thanks.

With the 2 step, they can't't access, you mean, even if they've succeeded in the registration.

1. Yes they can't access your whatsapp again, except you share the code to them
2. Yes, whatsapp asks occasionally, so you won't forget it, but not everytime you .

Which registration?.... If you mean "WhatsApp registration" with your phone number ... Then the answer is YES, thier registration cannot be successful without the CODEs.
