Four key areas need urgent attention and I think that the next President of Federal Republic of Nigeria should focus on; >Security >Electricity >Agriculture >Education & Health Security: No where is safe anymore; church, mosque, farm, schools and gatherings. Therefore, this should be a top priority for any presidential candidate. Tell Nigerians the security mechanism you would like to put in place that would be better than what we have currently. What should be done differently. With our current population of more than 200 million people and a projection of 400m people by 2050, no presidential candidate should have nothing less than 80,000MW of electricity Generation as a target with a subsequent increment plan. Nigeria has 209.5 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves as reported, hydro and sunlight to meet industrial demand. No electricity, economy collapses. Businesses can't function effectively. Relying on generators is not sustainable in a country with over 200m people. Agriculture: Food, food and food for sustainable healthy life among Nigerians is very important. Food provides chemical energy/nutrient which enable one to grow and live healthy. Without food, people can't work or carry out daily activities. Currently, food in Nigeria is not sufficient. People are hungry. Farmers need to be safe in their farm. And security should be a top priority. Mechanized farming is key. There is arable land for agriculture. This should be harnessed effectively. Kaduna State alone can feed the whole country (Nigeria). Nigeria has 691234 sq. Km agricultural land in 2018, according to the World Bank Data. Education: ASUU is on labour strike. What ASUU is demanding is less than N80bn. Quality education is key to sustainable development. Without education, forget the prosperity of any nation. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge said the Holy Scripture. A healthy people is a healthy nation. The health sector needs a revamp. 7 World class hospitals should be built in the 6 Geopolitical Zones and FCT. While State Governors should build 3 world class hospitals in each senatorial zone at the state level. This can be achieved in less than 6 months in office. Subsequent plan for advancement should be implemented. Healthcare service should be made affordable to the least person in the society. A good society should be able to cater for the least. I write to appeal to the next President to look into the above. Nigerians have suffered a lot. Good economy and governance are not expensive. People prosper more in a good economy. 2023 Electioneering campaign shouldn't be insults or abuses but how to make Nigeria great. Stop insulting others. Written by: Michael Yahaya. Nigeria and its Counterparts Comparison: Expedient Developmental Improvement. Electricity is the life blood of a healthy nation. No nation can do without electricity. Businesses and other economic activities survive on electricity. South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Ghana are countries in Africa as a continent. I compared these countries with Nigeria, and why we should do more to improve on where we are with what we have which is abundant gas. South Africa's electricity generation capacity is 58,095 megawatts (MW) with a population of 59.31 million people (World Bank 2020) Nigeria's electricity generation capacity is 12,522MW if existing plants are functioning well but only dispatch 4,000MW with a population of 206.1 million people (World Bank 2020) Egypt's electricity generation capacity is 59,063MW with a population of 102.3 million people (World Bank 2020). Ghana's electricity generation capacity is 5,134MW with a population of 31.07 million people (World Bank 2020). With over 200trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves, Nigeria should be able to generate electricity that corresponds with her population. Without electricity, no economic activities. Promoting gas or diesel generators here thinking you are an expert to save cost in running a business, it wouldn't have been if there is constant electricity in Nigeria with over 80,000MW generation with reliable and efficient transmission systems. It is so unfortunate that conditionality has made us to pursue what shouldn't have been. Ideally, gas or diesel generators should be on standby for an emergency in case there is grid power interruption. If you can afford generators, what about over 90 million Nigerians without access to grid electricity as reported? Electricity for all remains the best option through generating plants and renewable sources of energy not diesel and gas generators. For sustainability and improvement of all sectors in Nigeria, an expedient action needs to be taken in the energy sector. This will help the manufacturing industry and ensure that over 90 million Nigerians have access to grid electricity. A society must take care of the least through sustainable development. Nigerians should discard the ideas of 'tell us what you will do to security, education, economy etc' Am not saying is not good. But it does not work that way. Everybody will come and say whatever but at the end it is another story. Let take example of BUHARI during CAMPAIGN they said a lot of good things but when they got there, we see different things. Look at subsidy alone "General Buhari said nothing like subsidy but you know the story . Look at Dollar " naira is pathetìc " I will advise us not to make the same mistake on listening to what they tell us. Nobody will do miracle among these people. Like them them Don't believe any candidate that has structure to win election. They will continue where buhari STOP. The next president will still borrow money! The next president will increase taxes And do more! Including APC, PDP, L.P, NNPP AND OTHERS. Let me add, how many youths are member of politic party. Who is not ready to be entice before doing anything Which political party is Falz, Mr. Macaroni? 2 Likes |

The major area that needs attention is the government. It needs to change and stop enriching Dangote deliberately at the cost of its citizens.

So, we should shout ![]() He has the money..so no issues.. Our concern should be all the small and medium enterprises that have spent large percentage of their profit on power..just to be in business...and profit in most cases is zero! They can't even put meals on their tables...very sad situation! |

He would gladly on the cost to the consumers. Diesel is being speculated to reach 1500 naira per liter. With this announcement by Dangote, we can expect prices of commodities like cement, sugar, salt, tin tomatoes e.t.c. to go up in the next couple of weeks ![]() |

What's the complain for? Every cost is transferred to the consumer and they are struggling Nigerians. Whoever is deliberating to vote in another punishment of leadership will be committing an unforgivable sin against humanity and himself.
