Went back on the 4th day and got my port directly from him. Meanwhile they were using megaphone to be calling others on that long queue.
Pay an officer that has been recommended to you and get your port easily. No go stress yourself.

they are making it harder for DIY with stress only if The minister can strengthen it more by producing port accordingly to the date of Capture that will suit it out

You have no idea what people go through on DIY. Because if you do. You will understand people are been extorted and there is nothing anyone can do.
I have visited the ikoyi office almost 4 times to view if my port is ready.

Each visit I spend over 5k on cost and feeding.
Add that to NiN and network issue come tomorrow before I finally capture. Add that to the hot sun and stress.

each visit I took my day off from work.

If I knew this was the stress I will through , I would have paid express long time ago and get my port out.

We are part of the problem why DIY process don't work. After reading some posts i am feeling sad i even went through the process even do it's supposed to be the right way . Anyway my capturing date remains August and i don't need it that urgently, because of ASUU I can't get Transcript so i have their time. I will follow the DIY process till the end until i am in a serious pinch before i cave in.

it takes time to update sometimes.. some persons have mentioned they have picked up port but it’s showing this.. u can go to check

Im meant to do my capturing on the 13th of this month which is a monday but i just discovered that june 12 is democracy day which falls on sunday but the public holiday will now be on Monday the date im meant to capture , And i dont think port office will work on monday ,Pls whats the way out ?

That is not true. I had earlier gone to the PCO and explained my situation, and I was told it would go through the process. The PA to the PCO, one Mr. Awe or so told me that nobody can access my file where it is because it is do DIY (self process as they call it). I called one Immigration officer in Abuja to help me talk to them in Alausa because my application deadline has approached, yet no help came


It was @Bukhety that gave me the man's number who helped me. It took him 2 days. He duplicated my files, and they could produce. Date of issue was 24th May, and I collected it on 25th May. Supposed collection date was supposed to be 8th June.

Mr.Awe na sure plug, I used him as an agent and got mine bfr the said date. this was back in march

Hi everyone, please, what are the requirements to renew an expired port in Nigeria? Will my NIN be required?

Secondly, for a lady who wants to change her name on her expired port due to marriage, is her husband's port required for the process?

I heard there is no 32pages booklets in Festac office and I apllied for my kids since May, I used an agent. Can I tell him to change it to 64pages? Is it possible?
NB: They have captured
I want to know if it's possible before I ask him.

One thing is for sure, I am not part of the problem. Someone suggested I pay money as far back as January, I came to Nairaland, saw the process of doing DIY, and I was determined to do the right thing. I was even campaigning for DIY. I paid my money and my Kids online. Did my own capturing on March 10, and my deadline for submission was June 1.

So as a patriotic Nigerian, I should miss my opportunity because I want to be faithful to a country that is not faithful to me? I waited till a week b4 June 1 before I paid. They couldn't even find my file and they were forced to open a new file for me.

If I come here and advise that if you need it in 3 or 4 months, don't try DIY, I think it is not out of place. If I also share with people who needs it urgently, I also think it is not out of place.

If you need your own, next year, by all means, do DIY. I am for it also. But to try to help others could easily be misconstrued in this Nigeria. I come in peace!

People claim to have collected their ports and yet they are here looking for unassuming people to make money from.
This thread was created to help people obtain their ports the right way and do away with the wickedness of immigration officials who are deliberately maligning the system.
The minister of interior has tried to help, various times on this thread people have posted the anti corruption help line for use.
If you go to the port office and are struggling, take the name of the officer and call the anti corruption helpline to complain right there on the spot and see what happens.
If anyone wants to wait for 1 year for port what is your business? How does it affect the money in your ?

Also this is a lie from the bottomless pit of hell because port payments expire in 1 year and nobody has ever waited 1 year for a port. What sort of fear tactic is this?

Why does this only work in the south? Because southerners will always be wicked to each other. Why never shortage of port in the North? Why dont they ask Northerners for 40,50,60, 80k for port? Why always you fear crippled and corruption enslaved minds?

You are part of the problem why DIY will not work. If there are going to be 100 Applicants in a day, if even 80 go for diy on days 1 to 7, things will change. As the days go by, even the 100 applicants will become diy. As long as there are elements with aiding participants been the people applying for port that continue to sabotage a system, it will not stop. Why is it not so brazen in the north?
The immigration official has no right to withold international port from anyone.
Even on twitter, although it is hard to get their attention due to various tweets but if you send a complaint to the official NIS name and get a reply, your port will come out. Alot of people have been helped. Get the name of the person terrorizing you in that office and call the helpline or tweet at them. It is working. Slowly but surely one might say.

use black pen/biro over the print part of the thumb. Cover it up with ink and then press onto the part of the paper, a fingerprint will be imprinted. It is compulsory
