To sustain the balance of forces between North and South Nigeria, it is expedient and pragmatic for Southern Nigeria to speak now with one voice in of South East’s aspiration to produce Nigeria’s president in 2023; Likewise, the two major political parties, the PDP and APC should zone the presidential ticket to the SE, states a group of professionals from the South East, SE geo-political zone living in Europe and the Americas. The group under the aegis of South East People of Nigeria in Diaspora (SEPNID), rising from a meeting held in Newcastle, United Kingdom on Tuesday, in a Communique signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Hon Enyinnaya Emma Nwaka and Oluebube Umeokoro respectively, appealed to the political elites in the South West, SW and South South, SS to add their voices in the agitation of the SE to produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023 in the interest of justice, equity and fairplay. 2023: ‘Igbo Presidency, now or never’ 2023: CSOs Threaten APC, PDP, Others Over Zoning President of Igbo extraction will stop ethnic agitations — Kanayo O. Kanayo The communique stated that the Presidency having moved from the SW to the North West, NW and back to SS, before moving up NW again, justice demands that the SE be given the option of producing the Presidency in 2023. Hon Nwaka, who elaborated further on the intents of the communique maintained that agitations to address issues of justice and equity are not novel in Nigeria’s political development, recalling that in 1999 the three major political parties, namely the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; The then All Peoples Party, APP and Alliance for Democracy, all tly zoned the presidency to the SW to produce Chief Olusegun Obasanjo flying PDP’s flag and Chief Olu Falae flying APP/AD t ticket, and both the SS and SE tly ed the project. “We, of SEPNID are therefore drawing from this page in Nigeria chequered history and calling on Southern Nigeria to speak with one voice on behalf of the SE; Likewise, we are equally calling on the PDP and APC to zone their presidential ticket to the SE”, Nwaka stated. Nwaka reiterated that ing of forces by Southern Nigeria is desirable to create a balance between North and South, as none of the six geo-political zones can on its own produce the President of Nigeria. The communique further stated that having examined the options available in the event that the SW, and SS fails to by the SE; And the two major political parties fails to zone the Presidency to the SE, SEPNID urges SE political elites from both parties to follow the leading of the Senate Chief Whip Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who proposes that the SE s the aspirations of the North East, NE, another geo-political zone that has also been denied an opportunity to produce the president. Hon Nwaka further added: “The SE since 1979 had ed the emergence of presidents from other zones of Nigeria, equity demands now that power is returning to the South, that the rest of Southern Nigeria rally round the SE to produce the next President. “SE has always stood on the side of equity. This explains why we massively voted MKO Abiola of blessed memory, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, late Musa Yar’adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Abubakar Atiku since 1993. So now that it is our turn to produce a President, equity demands that our Southern brothers equally us to produce the President, as we cannot do it alone. “Unfortunately, to our amazement, we are witnessing a massive turnout of presidential aspirants from our SW and SS brothers. We have taken cognitive notice of appeals from Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Elder statesman, urging that justice be done for the SE, for us in the diaspora, we see the actions of SW and SS political elites as a stab in the back, an unfortunate setback indeed for Nigeria as a whole, but that is the reality the SE faces today: Betrayal from its SW and SS brothers. How do we deal with it? That question formed the focus of our meeting and going forward, how does the SE proceed to mitigate the incalculable cost of remaining under the shadows for another four years, or even eight as the possibility of a second term is not ruled out for whoever emerges President. “To that end, we were pleased to note that the able Igbo son, distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who has been neck deep in Nigeria’s politics since 1999, like an experienced sailor is already charting a course for the SE, we discussed and concluded as captured in our Communique as follows: “We solidly the position of the Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen Orji Uzor Kalu that SE align with the NE to produce the President in the event that the two major political parties fail to zone their presidential ticket to the SE. “Our premise is that politics, like life is dynamic, and the Igbo nation under the present circumstances cannot be frustrated to the point of becoming irrelevant in Nigeria’s politics. Such idea is inconceivable, unthinkable. Eight years in the life of a nation is so short, but in those eight years, we must remain relevant”, he submitted. Equally elaborating on the meeting and its conclusions, SEPNID’ s Secretary, Oluebube Umeokoro added that group would draw the attention of the APC and PDP to eminently qualified SE aspirants in their parties from which they should pick a candidate to fly their flags. “The APC has people like former governors – Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu, Ogbonnaya Onu, and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State. It also has former House of Representative member, Hon Emeka Nwajiuba and former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani; While PDP on the other hand has former governor, Peter Obi; Former Senate President, Senator Pius Anyim, and the boardroom guru, Sam Ohuabunwa and others. He urged the political parties to tap from the ingenuity of the people of the SE as represented by these galaxy of stars as Nigeria will be the ultimate beneficiary of these talents.” The SEPNID meeting had in attendance from UK, USA and other European countries. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/05/2023-cede-presidency-to-south-east-or-it-remains-in-north-igbo-in-diaspora/ Lalasticlala Lalasticlala Mynd44 1 Like |

If Fulanis could be desperate for power without any ers from the south, what do you think they would do when they now have backing of some southerners ? The Nothern region of Nigeria is bold enough to retain the presidency because they are capitalizing on the stand of majority of Igbos which is "Zone Presidency to the east or it remains in the north". Majority APC of Nothern extraction have listened to the voice of Igbo people concerning the presidency and there are a lot of indications that even despite having Nat chairman, they can still retain the presidency because they believe that a major ethnic group in Nigeria is backing their stand... Trust Me nothing, I mean absolutely nothing will happen if they have the presidency, and National Chairman, infact they might even wish to have the Senate presidency at the same time and get away with it because the south is totally irredeemably cracked .. The only thing that could have checkmated their excesses is the unity of the south unfortunately the unity of the south is not happening anytime soon, hence they had to take advantage of it and rule Nigeria the way they want... You can't beat them, you can only shout online and rest... Who could have imagined that Top 3 citizens in Nigeria would come from the same region in the history of Nigeria ?( President, Senate President and the CJN) .. And to some clowns that are chanting " Igbo votes are Inconsequential" because of least voters registration of SE, it's only a political illiterate that doesn't know the difference between Igbo votes and SE votes.. You are not wiser than your politicians that place or try to identify with the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria while campaigning.. There Is a reason for that. People of SW should have known better that North was never their ally. They have used you and ready to dump you a pick a new bride.. SW should Stop issuing threats to north telling them they can't have Nat chairman and presidency at the same time , the more you issue threats the more they go back to sleep 6 Likes |

in a sane reasonable country,,, This Igbo presidency of a thing will be the best and available political choice to make. It's not only going to solve one but lots and lots of problems we presently have in the country right now. but hatred and tribalism would still blind alot of people from making the obvious right decision. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Oplomo:Lol..is that a question or explanation.. the fact that we don't blame or blackmail to get what we want shows we are a tribes confident of getting what we want.... Only an inconsequential tribe blackmail, blame, threatens others to get what they want because they know they are so inconsequential to get it by legal means.. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Balogunodua: Bayerabe, you are being evasive and diversionary, Igbo votes are '5%er', we agree, we also agree that yoruba votes are '100%ers'. Now, with your consequential "100%ers" votes, how come Awo and Falae your leaders failed severally at the federal poll, abi your yoruba votes na audio votes? ![]() 2 Likes |

Balogunodua: Who told you? In fact Yorubas are even trying to blackmail the north as we speak, telling them that Nigeria will disintegrate if the @south@ is not given the presidency in 2023. But that Yoruba threat will not work. Igbos have left that southern crap. If the SE can't be considered, then to hell with the south. As things stand, Igbos are the only group with the moral right to demand for presidency in the south. So now that Igbos are willing to ditch the southern apparel, the Yoruba threat is now ringing very hollow, and in fact the only thing giving Lawan confidence at the moment, is that Igbos are likely to abandon the southern stance. And once Igbos abandon the southern stance, Lawan and Atiku will immediately be favoured, and the Yoruba threat becomes null and void, after all the Yoruba claim to the 2023 presidency is very inferior to the Igbo claim to the 2023 presidency. 1 Like |

Oplomo:Olu False contested and lost to a fellow Yoruba despite OBj no getting the full of Yoruba's.. we still gave him more votes than ipob inconsequential tribe ![]() As for Awolowo he contested and lost we move on...that is what election is all about, you either lose or win no two ways about it...same with Abiola who contested and won without needing votes from the ipob 5%centers ![]() On the other hand the inconsequential 5%centers far East can't even contest for it because they know they are inconsequential minority com.majority ![]() |

OfoIgbo:Threat fro. cowards moves no one.....we don't care who you vote or ...we will contest for it because we have the what it takes to win and not an inconsequential minority. |
OfoIgbo: 11:03am On May 19, 2022 |
Balogunodua: We will know who the minorities are in 2023. Tinubu will be disgraced. You are about to find out the voting strength of the Igbos We affect percentages in many non-Igbo states including Lagos and Abuja. Tinubu, the great betrayer of the south is about to taste the resolve of the Igbos. He was allowed to get away with his betrayal in 2015. This time around, he will be so emotionally traumatized with the response 1 Like |
