You see most of this lekki house eh, they can't sleep with their eyes closed during raining season and they hardly have good water due to the present of iron cos most of the area na swamp so their bathroom and toilet seats are always colored. They will close work 6pm and get home 12am due to traffic and still wake up 4am the next morning.

I know people want to live with the rich and form class but most lekki areas doesn't worth it. In this economy, person go carry 1.2m for 1 year go share 1 room with 3 people while they share 1 sitting room. I live just 3 years for tenant house paying 120k yearly for 2 bedroom before I pack go my house. I have tastes as well but I can't be stupid forming wetin I never reach.

We need to be pennywise and use our brain cos the country is messed already and we don't know where we are going yet

Hmmm...we shouldn't be having this kind of argument because it is very subjective and relative.

The same way a lean investor like myself will see your decision to sink 13m into building a 4 bedroom flat to live in as an imprudent one (I could have used the same 13m and the money I used in purchasing the land to buy a bungalow with at least 5 units of self-cons in a densely populated part of Lagos or build 4 units of self-cons and make ive rental income while still living in my rented apartment), is the same way someone working on the island and is well-paid will see renting a 1.2m self-con as a prudent decision.

Sometimes, it is not just about the craze to keep up with the Joneses. It could also be about wanting to live in a "saner" environment. It may sound strange, but people tend to comport themselves better on the Island - danfo drivers don't breathe on your neck while driving, agberos don't run around like they do on the mainland and even law enforcement agents treat you with some decorum when they confront you. These are just my personal observations though.

Ultimately, people make their decisions based on their subjectivities and reality. Let's respect their decision and desist from tagging them as foolish.
