It is worrisome that many teachers are not qualified to be called one in Nigeria. This reality prompted the Education ministry to insist every teachers: public or private, must be duly certified. To achieve this, if you are not a graduate of Education you must obtain PGDE from regular universities, or National Teachers' Institute (NTI).
Unfortunately, many who ed through NTI for the one-year PGDE Program has not seen their result let alone receive their certificate.
In fact, 2017/8 are yet to have their results released and NTI has not come out to explain reason for this. Thousands have enrolled in 2019 and 2020 already not knowing the predicaments of those before them are facing.
Permit me to say that some friends have lost decent employment opportunities because they don't have certificate to prove they have their PGDE. A friend was denied TESCOM opportunity in Lagos at the final stage of the recruitment because she couldn't present any education certificate in late 2019 despite the fact that she had finished her program with NTI in 2018.

Now that education ministry is pushing for qualified teachers threatening to close schools without one, I strongly suggest that the ministry look into the activities of NTI and the plight of thousands of teachers that have their results/certificates withheld in years for reasons unknown to any.
It is almost looking like a scam institution, yet they generate lot of funds annually for education ministry.
Teachers,NTI students, parents, stakeholders in education and all concerned Nigerians, let's hear your view on this topic please.

National Teacher's Institute, is a failed institution, honestly I regret ever running my postgraduate diploma program in that institution. Since 2018 till now we have not set our eyes on our first semester results talk more of issuing of certificates.

I finished my PGDE NTI in Kwara State, am in Lagos, I applied for results evaluation with WES after sending my Certificate and verified WES requested NTI to forward my transcript to them but I have paid NTI via remitta over a year and WES is sending me mail that they are yet to get my transcript. I have ed NTI in Kaduna through a friend and they said they sent it since February but WES is yet to acknowledge receiving it.
But am confused as on my certificate it was issued by NOUN, and its states NTI as an . Please I need help ASAP.

Honestly I also don't have much information about it, why don't you go to their office .

Please note that after your program with the nti you will not be issued certificate for donkey years. I did my pgde program since 2014 till date, no certificate yet. Very annoying

You're not alone. I equally did my PGDE in 2014 and haven't been issued a certificate ever since. It's seriously infuriating and frustrating. I learnt that the institute have unresolved issues with NOUN hence it inability to issue certificate to 2014 sets.

Don't try NTI, result takes donkey years.
It's been 3years nah that I completed my PGD, nothing to show.

It depends on the centre. My sister did hers and waited for a year to get her result.

I will advise that you run your PGDE programme at the National Open University of Nigeria. It is the best for the working class. Even.....is d to NOUN.

If you are close to their state office go find out the cause of the delay.
