Waste of money.

Just set big antelope traps strategically and marked (so you know the exact locations to avoid stories that touch) outside your windows.

Then sit back and enjoy the show.

Of what use are the video cameras that will only show you how your house is burglarized? I prefer loss prevention.

/

Had to respond to this again with a quote:

"New Internet-enabled provide not only recording of activities, but real-time monitoring.

And they do so using small, easily-hidden devices, which means four, five or six webcams can be positioned to give different views of the same area.

Dummy cameras disabled by burglars have no bearing on the live webcams still humming away. Internet-based surveillance gives owners an immediate view of what is happening outside and inside their homes.

Compared to alarm systems, webcams are the next-best thing to catching a burglar red-handed. Help is a quick 911 call away."

Ignore the 911 part but if you have arrangements with reputable security companies who have friends with law enforcement you are covered.

If you are rich enough, make friends with the Commissioner of Police in your State and put him on your p****** same for the DPO in your area.

That's what all the moneybags do and you are assured of quick response to your emergencies.

That's how we roll in Nigeria security wise.

I don't think this is a gate...it does look like one actually..... It will be nice if someone can design a gate like that tho. But this is a TV /media console.

Ohh! It's actually a console, lovely. Didn't look closely to see the vases up. Nice concept for a gate too just that it will consume some numbers of pipes sha.

I read 911 and figured someone need to wake you up from your dream. There is no such thing immediate tactical response in Nigeria. What rickety vehicle will they use to get to the scene on time? Let's assume there will be petrol in the vehicle in the first place.

Good Morning to the Daddies and mummy in the house, i sincerely need your contribution on this, help me.

We got a land valued at around 70M to 100M last year may/june, CofO,survey and the rest showed that the land is legit but when we went to secure the land, we discovered that there's a serious litigation on the land.

Government claimed the lands in the area (prime location) from a family back in the 90s without compensating the family, only for the government to end up reselling such land to friends (private people) which we later got it from.

We've done a serious back and forth since last year and it's been hellish (Land wahala) and refund is no longer forthcoming because we sealed the deal already.

Now, the lawyer representing the family made a request yesterday that we should bring 10M  to offset the bills they've spent on the case and to settle the family and that when the case finally fall in their favour, they will give us a preferential treatment (Maybe we will forgoo part of the land or we will rebuy the land)

NB: on all angles, it might take time but the case is in the family's favour just like the Magodo vs LASG recent case.

My Delima
We coughed out everything on this land and we've spent blood, sweet and resources on this case since last year, i have a feeling paying the money they demanded won't solve anything even if they should eventually win the case, i don they think am sinceeee.

I need help, two brains are better than one and i am sure intelligent contributions from you will be better than my limited understanding.

Thanks

You need a serious legal counsel on this.

However, I question the family's effrontery? What make them think that involving you is a good bargain? ( To buy you over against the government ) They Possibly want you to acknowledge them which could be a serious mistake, and once you you give them the money it means you are on their side against your own interest which queries your right as the current owner of the land.

Just seek for a very experienced and smart lawyer's counsel

What did your lawyer say about your being ed as in interested party in the case?

As opposed to your empowering another interested party to get a judgement that has no bearing on your claims to the land? And which judgement will be delivered without awareness that you have some interest in the said land?

That way the judge will make a pronouncement that covers your interests in the matter.

For the majority of the population? Yes.

For that special breed that can and do pay to ensure they have security on speed dial and can afford to have one or the other arms of law enforcement stationed on their property permanently and even following them around, another set of rules apply.

I told you what is an open secret by the way. Though not everyone appreciates that that is how things work, nor does everyone agree that even though that is how things work, that is not how things are supposed to be done.

Most lawyers actually prefer sweet jobs, charge and bail and the rest.

Even though he’s the one in charge of the acquisition and the rest, I can boldly say I am the one handling 90% of it.

I suggested it since last year, not forthcoming.

Thanks for the contribution Chief

You may need someone who will pull all the stops to protect your interests.

You may pay more but it will be worth the cost.

If he your lawyer didn't ask for your permission to make you a parry aka der then he may not be doing all he can to protect you in this matter.

Those guys, I mean the family are being mischievous by a long shot.

If work has commenced on the land, suspend work indefinitely.

Don't pay any money to the family.

Please wait till the outcome of the litigation.

However, during the land transaction, is there not an idemnity clause in the Deed of Assignment between you and the seller?

If there is an Idemnity clause in your favour, you have every right to press legal charges against the person who sold the land to you and get your money back.
