Hello everyone, so i have been watching some Youtube videos and trying to understand the process for schooling in Finland, but i am a bit confused. Some say there are scholarships for undergraduate students, some say its only for MSc students.

Please i will like to anyone here that recently relocated there, how is the tuition fee for undergraduates? Do you have to pay for the first year then subsequently enjoy scholarships?

You'll need IELTS for Finland. You better start preparing your money cos there's no way around it. Schools in Finland mostly need IELTS.

There are scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate programmes. Which ranges from 50% upwards.

Tuition fee for undergraduate ranges from €5000 to €10000. You will be entitled to 50% n above scholarship. So do the maths.

Almost all Finland universities offers PhD depending on your course. Check studyinfo.fi

Alright, thanks. Heard academic transcript has to be sent directly to Finland for applications and not ed...hope they give enough time for this to be done considering the abysmal nature of transcript delivery in most Nigerian institutions?

It's better you send it ahead of time...so that it won't mess up your application, it happened to me before.

Congrats to all who have gotten ission in Finland and those who have even gotten RP.

I was on the waiting list and just got ission this july and i've paid school fees. I'm almost overwhelmed with the application for RP, VFS verification etc. How are you guys going about it?

After your graduation you can apply for 1 year residence permit to remain in Finland and look for a Job, after securing a job within the year you will be granted temporary residence renewable every 2 years as long as you're employed, after 5 years of Temporary residence you would be granted permanent residence, after 5 years of permanent residence you would be granted Citizenship.

Trust me, you can ONLY secure a job there if you master the Finish Language, regardless of academic achievement and work experience without mastering the Finish language you can't secure a Job there.

that Finland is part of EU and Shenghen, Citizens of these Unions don't need a work permit to work in any of the member countries but you need one, you are gonna be competing with people that are favoured by the system, and it's quite easy for EU and Shenghen employers to employ the Unions Citizens than outsiders...

The only way you stand a chance is to master the Finish language to native level before you finish your studies there.

You’re quite wrong. You don’t get automatic citizenship after 5 years of permanent residence. You still need to apply for citizenship and have your application reviewed by the Finnish immigration. Usually, without a good mastery of the Finnish language, you most likely won’t get the citizenship unless you’re an underage child.
