I feel so sad, if I had known, I won't have listened to advice from people.
My friend and I bought our first car together, deep late last year. (October). We all decided to buy a Toyota Camry with emphasis on the 2010/2011 model (Because of the unique driving experience it gives you when compared to the 2007/2008/2009 model).
My friend got a 2010 Hybrid edition, while I bought a 2011 XLE V4 edition, I wanted to go for the Hybrid editions, but a lot of people kept advising me on getting it, saying it would be hard/expensive to maintain and in some cases I may need to remove the Hybrid abilities of the car and replace it with a conventional engine. But, yesterday I almost cried because I got to see my friends car for the first time yesterday and I got the opportunity to drive it. My God, it was the best car I have ever driven, the torque is not in this world, the engine is sound, put your legs on the accelerator and here it goes, it consumes less fuel (He spends 3K on fuel weekly driving from Ajah to the mainland on the daily basis) and it eco-friendly.
I wish I didn't listen to anyone.

like I've said if you've driven hybrid car you won't want to drive any other car than hybrid, eco friendly, less fuel consumption, electric steering, less expensive (if you know the right person) etc

Not true. I've owned the 2015 camry Hybrid and non hybrid, and I can tell you that the Non Hybrid is way smoother and efficient even though the hybrid gets better mpg.

Hybrid is meant for someone who has a car and wanna add more to it. It's not advisable to own just 1 hybrid car because the day it will disappoint you won't be funny.
Btw, I'm tired of Toyota cos of their wack interior

Thanks for this wonderful submission
To me there's more to car than mpg
If it's all about mpg, then it's better to use danfo for commuting instead of private car

You should always test drive your option to know your fit.
The hybrid is more expensive than than non hybrid and engine tends to last longer than non hybrid because it is not always running

I don't think so sir. This mentality is what has made Hybrid cars not successful in Nigeria. We should embrace it. On the long run I think buying it will save you alot from buying fuel all the time.
Well the only reason I feel Hybrid cars are not accepted here is because we don't have good mechanics to take car of it. Same thing will happen to Tesla and other electric options when they come to the country.

Exactly my thoughts. When I wanted to buy I noticed that most car dealers don't import Hybrid cars you just have to do it yourself. So the option of doing a test drive was out of it.
Basically, I followed reviews I got from people around to decide the best option for me.

The Toyota Hybrid won't disappoint you out of the blue. Even with hybrid issues , it will still drive.
