What is 50k naira in a month for a serious blog? My first successful blog made $750 when I monetized it after 6 months. The 7th month generated more than $1000. But do not take my word for it. Blogging is work, serious work. I own 4 blogs now even though I'm yet to monetize two because they do not yet have enough content.

Blog comments are not as important as blog ranking. Your target should be to get your b front of as many people as possible. When you have say, 20k-30k views, there is no way you won't earn $1000 monthly for a well monetized blog if you did your homework well. What homework are we talking about?

1) Be sure that your niche is monetizable
2) Be sure that you do not spam your links. I see some of you post your blog links on Nairaland. That's disaster waiting to happen. Make all your traffic organic. It helps you to split test effectively and understand what's working without getting confused with unnatural traffic.
3) Grow your traffic organically through QUALITY content.
4) Understand that people come online to get useful actionable content. Produce that and you'll see quality monetizable traffic.
5) Be patient if you've done all things well. A good blog would give you full time income in 3 years if you're taking things easy. That's $15,000/month
What year is that

Blogging is not dead, the only thing I have learned, having been blogging for at least two years now is, you need trafick to make money, 50k is even small, that's about $130.

I don't like to share my secrete, but I will do that to show people with little or no hope in blogging.

I learned how to blog on Nairand, I ed about 2017 but I have been learning how to blog on the forum since 2012.

Note: I don't go into blogging for money then because I was an undergraduate. My parent pays my schools fees, pocket money and all.

I was a bite brilliant in school, I initially started with YouTube video in other to teach my juniort, some of my departmental courses,
then in University of ilorin.

When I created YouTube channel I was given an AdSense . Someone then told me with all I learned on Nairaland I can start blog and with the AdSense and make money. That how I started. I blog for about a year before I made $6. Because of low traffic.

The bottom line is blog require patient, or if tlu don't want to be patient buy a big facebook group or page and a twitter with lots of followers then post on the blog and share on the twitter & Facebook pages. You could make $50 daily.

I owned both www.insidenaija.com.ng and www.newspremises.com.ng which arebeing monetized by propellerads and google AdSense.

The rate at which people run into blogging is the same rate people drop from blogging. Till kingdom come, blogging will still be profitable, you only need to understand how the whole thing works.

Someone that has done his mathematics can start earning from the first month of blogging.

What you need to know.

- Niche
- Content generation. This includes it's uniqueness and SEO.
- Backlinks
- Web 2.0
- Parasites
- Social signals
- Promotion methods. (Both paid and free)
- Monetization methods. This includes program, AdSense, A, Drop servicing, etc.

With only the knowledge of the above or even less, you can start earning from blogging from your first month.

Nigerian economy isn’t getting any better , last week , a friend of mine was at Sabo to exchange some dollars and he successfully was able to exchange $100 for #48,000 . .
I see many people making enquires one what type of business to do , my advice is , don’t even think of a business you would earn in Naira because the economy keeps getting worse and you would directly or Indirectly still purchase your needs at dollar rate .
If you are looking for an amazing business to start , then I will advise you to go into any of blogging , E-commerce , directory or any online business .

There are hundreds of thousands of blogs in Nigeria. Most rarely have even one single comment at the end of the article. When i stumble on them, I usually wonder if the owner is breaking even or meeting his expectations, or even seeing any tangible money.

I would like to know if blogs can generate >50k a month. Or how long it would take to do that, and the necessary things to put in place to achieve that before I venture into it.

Please help

The answer is YES... never mind anyone that say NO... You want to know why, i said YES?

Sorry to say this but most Nigeria startup wanna be are lazy set of people. They plan on making profit asap... Some even think, its like a goldmine, you start today, you make it today.

If you want to blog for good money don't learn from Nigerian bloggers. Learn from foreign bloggers. They are in tune with current realities not our local bloggers who are still a century behind.

Try Harsh Aggarwal. I use his methods for d marketing.

Cheers

There are 1.8 billion 'blogs' out there.

For every 100 people, there are 7 blogs.

Only way to be successful with a b 2021 and beyond is to stand out.

I'm building one next month in public. Will apply lessons I have learned building blogs for startups.

Want to follow along: follow me on twitter @banjoalfred.

Will post on Nairaland too

If you want to go into blogging now, learn SEO. It may take so.e few years of hard work to start seeing results. Anybody telling you they started making money within the first year or so is either lying or they spent thousands of naira promoting the blog

Some are good at blogging and already have huge social media following, alot of backlinks and all the elements needed to run and monetize a blog cos you'll need traffic for that to happen

So yes it's still profitable but it's not make money overnight scheme, actually takes a lot of hard work to get there if you doubt ask seun how his journey started lol

Nairaland is not a blog, it is a forum.
