It's been a very long time since this store had been on their hit list.

Peter Obi should know that this investment was targeted to either go up in flames or be demolished by FCTA under the guise of distortion of Abuja master plan.

At least now they achieved its destruction without any lawsuit

God bless Ebonyi state
God bless Alaigbo
God bless Dave Umahi

God bless Gov Dave Umahi for his service to Ebonyi state and Igboland in general! I cannot thank the dude enough for his transformational projects. God will help him to finish strong especially with the delivery of the airport next year. It will be the most transformative single event since the creation of Ebonyi state.

Tourists can fly into Ebonyi to visit the Afikpo beach as well as local and international businessmen can access Abakaliki without fear of being kidnapped traveling on Nigerian interstate roads. The economic effect of the airport on Ebonyi state will be unquantifiable. The airport will totally transform Ebonyi state and make it highly attractive to investors upon completion. I cannot thank Dave Umahi enough for the courage to start the massive project. I hope he gives it a proper priority amongst all his projects to ensure it was completed under his tenure and not left for the next istration to become an abandoned project.

Ebonyi international airport will be delivered next year cheesy, governor umahi is not substandard governor https://fb.watch/a72gmauEf7/ this video was posted on Facebook by someone 17th of December
Sir,

We are all praying the project will be delivered next year as promised.

The inquiry was if it was fake news that the terminal building superstructure collapsed or not. I'm not doubting Umahi's prowess as a standard engineer.

Ongoing grin

I got highly disturbing news last week and I have been looking for the Ebonyi state government to refute that claim and it never did.

Is it true that there was an accidental collapse of the ongoing airport terminal building which sadly resulted in the death of six construction workers? Can someone please post a video to refute the social media gossip or at least explain the true nature of the accident?

Of all Gov. Dave Umahi projects, the ongoing Ebonyi airport is the one that I believe holds the potential to transform the entire landscape of Ebonyi state. That is why I'm more concerned about that project than any other of his fantastic achievements.

It might make more sense to leave the stadium as Awka township stadium. Then develop an Olympic Anambra International Stadium in the New Airport City.

In that way, Anambra will have 2 fifa standard stadia. The cost of building a separate International stadium ot adding sitting capacity to the present one might not be too different.

Absolutely on point.

Even though I'm not one of those that will advise the use of scarce resources to build huge stadia that will NEVER be filled to capacity. The South African world cup stadia are still wasting away after billions of dollars that it cost the country.

However, instead of adding more construction to the Awka city Stadium, It might just be a difference of N150 - N200 million naira between adding a 30,000 sitting capacity in the Awka Township stadium phase 2, than constructing a brand new 30,000 sitting capacity Anambra international stadium for the state at the new airport city!

I hope the state government will acquire the land along the new airport road now for the brand new Anambra international stadium with all sporting facilities within the sports complex. The project can be phased over several years so that it does not negatively impact other more important industrialization efforts.

Why focus on Ogun state alone?

Ogun state has not borrowed as much as many other states in Nigeria that borrowed massively and yet no projects to show for all the money!

We MUST probe all these loans taken by both Federal and State governments!

Why do you guys always think nobody has access to Microsoft excel to type any crap they like as debt of states and post it to misinform folks? Why don't you always provide a credible source so that people will see it from a credible source like NBS? I can also type in my own excel and say Enugu state owes 7 trillion naira. Does it make it true just because I typed it and posted it?

All that is left now is to increase the sitting capacity of the Awka City stadium and complete the car parks according to the specifications of the second phase.

No need to start replicating sporting facilities again because Anambra already possessed all sporting facilities at Alex Ekwueme Square to host any national or international games.

There is no way Anambra would have hosted a huge sports event as the 2020 Nigeria Police games if it did not have all the sporting facilities.

Very soon, the state will also possess a FIFA standard stadium to host FIFA soccer events such as international matches.

The stadium is a FIFA GOAL project. It is a field for training and development not full capacity crowds. The state government is following a pre specified design. It is a MINI stadium. They should use the rest of the land there to build other sporting facilities like basketball courts with of NBA Africa, Tennis courts, Boxing/wrestling gym, Volleyball, swimming to make the place a mini sports complex for sports development. A full capacity stadium can be built elsewhere.

Oga,
Say what you know.

Anambra already has a sports Arena with all sporting facilities. From Volleyball, Olympic swimming pool, basketball etc. The ONLY sports facility lacked was a FIFA standard stadium for soccer and athletics events.

That is why last year's Police Games hosted by the state only used Rojenny stadium for soccer and athletics events. After the event, Obiano promised to build a FIFA standard state stadium in the state, as well as launch a state male and female football team.
1. Anambra Bombers (Male football team)
2. Anambra Babes (Female football team).

I don't think they are hyping the Awka Millenium City. I think the project facilitators have planned a truly world-class city there.

I am watching to see the Awka Millenium city, HELIU Gardens and Enugu Golf & Centenary city which will become the true choicest city in the southeast and south-south region.

Obiano should have added construction of more pavilion to the contract I don't know how much it will cost him to do that, I'm not surprise no body is even proud enough to post it here on nairaland, if it was the other way round the post would have hit front page by now

This is the first phase of the stadium. Which is to create a FIFA standard pitch, Floodlights, Public address systems, and able to transmit LIVE matches from the stadium will be completed this year.

The second phase of the project is focused on increasing the sitting capacity. I prefer the phased construction approach so that the stadium can continue to be used for sporting events and sports development in the state, while more pavillions are gradually added. Than to leave it abandoned for 10 years until a 30,000 - 50,000 Pavillion is completed. Like many stadia in Nigeria today.

As far as you have contributed to the wasting of innocent souls, posterity will judge you.

The bible made it clear that it will visit the sins of father's on their children and generation to come.

You are contributing to Terrorism and all forms of vices.

Go and collect your own share of human meat and eat.

Alu melu.

I can reveal to you free of charge that IPOBs global financial network are still intact. All the Fulani herdsmen, army and DSS childish propaganda that ESN are cannibals and unknown gunmen is TOTALLY ineffective. You guys can continue burning people's houses in Izombe, Awo or Barr Ejiofor's home and say its ESN. Nobody in the entire world is decieved one bit that the perpetrators of these crimes are Fulanis in Nigerian security forces.

The grudge any of us have with IPOB is simply on the tactical duties of ESN. Some of us strongly believe that Biafrans MUST have the freedom to hold political opinions and religious beliefs without any fear. I don't like APC, but Biafrans that love them should not be made to live in fear. The same way Biafrans who are jews or Muslims cannot be discriminated on.

While i understand there are some criminal elements who infiltrated ESN. Your FG masters silly attempt to frame IPOB or ESN by killing people and forging stories or videoed "confessions" is an indication of your childish mindset. No fool in the world is deceived about the activities of Fulani militias in the south-east zone under the guise of Nigerian army and DSS. If you doubt me, ask your ambassador to sample US diplomatic intelligence on who is behind the killings in south-east Nigeria. Even North Korean government does not indulge in the type of extremely childish propaganda of Nigerian federal government. I don't even think that the Nigerian federal government understands the word "duress". So let them stage more drama to discover where IPOB stationed people who would be suicide bombers or who would be blamed for the bombs the army and DSS would be planting to kill Igbos. Nobody is fooled one bit with these silly dramas.

I truly don't have time to issues with hateful abokis who are sworn to destruction of Ndigbo. A typical aboki does not care about Igbo life. That is why you use the strategy of killing innocent people in the east.. But i just want to let you know that your cover is already blown. So quit trying.

U be calming down

I think I get what oremii is saying. If u don’t know, oremii once said here that he used to be a strong financial contributor to the coffers of Ipob till d group started going beserk. He stopped totally. I once read that here about him. So it isn’t about the ipob nonsense.
I understand his point well.

Besides,MelesZewani...I still haven’t forgotten the nasty reply u once gave me on this thread sometimes in d past about the useless sit at home? I will revisit that when I am in d right state of mind.

And finally,so on this thread, they say you’re me and I am you? Lmao

Yes, I contributed MONTHLY to IPOB financially for so many years! In fact, many people here know me as the person that reminds them to pay their monthly dues. Infact, another member of the forum here started contributing because I persistently urged her to contribute to the safety of our region by ing the ESN vigilante.

The only reason I stopped contributing was using ESN to stop elections in Biafraland. Which is TOTALLY against their one and only role of securing our forest from the rampaging herders killing farmers and raping our women. The politics of election or no election in Biafraland should be decided by our people and not anyone abusing the ESN mandate to scare our people from participating in elections if they choose to. That was an unpardonable redline that forced my withdrawal from IPOB. It underscored that some people could also abuse the ESN mandate and turn it into Boko Haram if they felt that is where their interest was.

Exactly. Immediately Yorubas took it from then, they maintained their Yoruba Movie trademark and never integrated it into the main stream Nollywood thus claiming ownership and maintaining their turf.

Same with the Northerners that most people think they are senseless . They maintain theirs and trademark it as Kannywood, receiving exclusive enforcement, recognition and aid for it.

It was after our kinsmen have realised that they have lost the game that they started acting funny, most of them realised that they are third choice in endorsements and awards in the movie scheme. Instead of them to shoulder their utter defeat like men and women, they are looking for a way to smuggle themselves back home and expect us to give them heroes welcome. They think we are ignorant, that we don't know their condition.
It is now obvious to their ignorant selves that there was never a Nigerian Nollywood but Igbo Nollywood

The game became obvious to them when Africa Magic launched Yoruba Channel and still use both the and new for Yoruba films with different percentage of Yoruba language in it. They begged for Igbo channel but by then it was already too late.

I swear eh, If someone else try to package that rotten Nollywoods defeat as return for us here again I will break bottle on his/her head.

In the past, one used to be saddened with stuff like this. These days, it gladdens me so much!

You know, Igbos are one of the most stupidly stubborn groups in the world. So, I have seen that their nature is neither to learn from the experience of their parents nor the experience of other Igbos. For them, personal experience is the best teacher. So, let them suffer the bitter personal experience and learn the hard way.

I heard some of them went back to buy lands where some of their fellow Igbos buildings were knocked down in Lagos! Okay, like the person re-selling your brother's land to you is so brain dead that he does not know you are also Igbo abi? In your mind, you are buying an Imo man's land or Anambra man's land, but you forget that the person selling the land to you sees you all as 'IBOS"!

In a few years' time, when they return with bulldozers to knock down the same buildings, you will start making videos again calling on southeast governors to scold the Lagos state government not to knock down your buildings. They suddenly realize too late that they are not Imo, Anambra, or Ebonyi, that they are simply "IBOS"! You can just see that sometimes, they simply deserve the hard lessons they are taught so that they will be a little tactful in Nigeria.

I love the saying below because it's precisely an accurate depiction of our people's deep sedation and lack of awareness of what "One Nigeria" is really about.

See these ones. This is not worth celebrating because Nollywood lost her relevance the very day they left Igbo land, now when they are at the verge of being anhilated by Yoruba Movies in Lagos, they want to bring it home so that we will all share the disgrace together.

No, no, no, they should enjoy their defeat and disgrace in peace.

Ọ dị mma, a gbakwuru ndị iro mana ọ Diba njọ e bunata ya ụnọ. Ndị ara.

They think we all don't know about what they are facing in Lagos. Nonsense, they didn't learn from our musicians when they lost music to Lagos and fell for the same stupidity. If they can't fight Yoruba home movies in that Lagos that they ran to, they have no businesses in bringing their defeat home. No Apologies and accolades from this angle. Nollywood is dead.

I need to buy you a bottle of Hero beer! One thing about the Igbo person is that he/she desperately wants to be accepted as a "Nigerian" if there is any true word as "Nigerian". However, whether they pretend or are genuinely ignorant about what Nigeria truly is about, they will all get the same treatment by Nigeria.GUARANTEED!
So it is better to understand Nigeria and act according to the realities than play ostrich all the time.

Igbos are the only ones that carry the "One-Nigeria" mantra on their head like a burden that has been killing them. Nollywood practically started in Iweka road, Onitsha and Pound Road, Aba with the early movies such as living in bondage, Nneka the pretty serpent, etc. The Yorubas quickly set up their own "Nollywood" in Lagos and the north quickly set up its own version in Kano. Shockingly, the Igbos decided that they needed to "UNITE" Nollywoods and moved theirs to Lagos and started the English movies! The Yorubas used their money and Infrastructure to set up another specific Yoruba movies version in Ibadan, while Igbos were still too ashamed to continue Igbo language movies like Living in Bondage that gave them fame in the first instance! They said that they didn't want to make "Igbotic" movies. Whatever that meant. In time, those tactless Igbos seeking a "UNITED Nigerian Nollywood" have gradually learned that there is nothing "Nigerian" that can survive or have from other tribes.

It is the same thing that they did to some Igbo Musicians that thought that if they sang in Yoruba language or English, somehow those people will not that they are Igbo. grin Well, such idiocy! None of those musicians exist today. It is the artists that understood their audience and understood that in Nigeria, it is only your people that will promote you first before others will appreciate you. So they sang mostly in the Igbo language that are still around today and doing very well. All the "One Nigeria" artists that preferred singing in strange languages than their own have all been liquidated.

Anywhere in the world, what I have written here will be considered extreme nationalism and distasteful. But Nigeria is not a normal place. It is a place where people ask your name and your parent's tribe before they decide if your art is good or not. Those "Lagos" Igbos and others that would like to play the ostrich and pretend that what has been said here is untrue should continue to delude themselves. From knocking down their houses and markets in Lagos to other practices they have faced, I am just glad that some of them are beginning to smell the coffee and understand the true nature of the space called Nigeria. That is just the bitter truth. They can continue to ignore it at their own peril.

Oga, APC would have weight the chances of a southeast candidate under APC winning the presidential election. Believe me, the chance is very slim. Do you think governors of south-south will mobilise for a southeast candidate in APC and not Atiku or Tambuwal having wike as running mate in PDP. See the best bet for APC is to have Osinbajo on board with a northern Muslim running mate.

Oga,
You know very well that your analysis only makes sense in an environment like America where elections are free and fair. In Nigeria, only Jonathan ever lost an election because he was too afraid of using federal might and the army to impose himself as all the others do. 2023 will not be different from 2019 or any other previous election in Nigeria for that matter.

You are on a long thing thinking that PDP will defeat APC without a formidable nationally popular northern candidate that APC knows they cannot just write results and it will stand. Which Igbo politician can the entire country riot for if he is rigged out? Peter Obi or Sam Egwu?

You already knew in your mind that picking a soft Igboman as the PDP candidate is the surest defeat on arrival for the PDP, and nothing can be done about that. Else, the APC federal government will call out the army on innocent protesters as they always do.

If the PDP wants to totally lose out in 2023, it should zone its presidential ticket to the south in 2023. The ONLY chance for the PDP to regain power is to zone its presidential ticket to an acceptable northerner. An upright man who is acceptable to both the north and the south.

Good suggestion, but is there enough space for a 4-star hotel? It’s good to have a nice open space so the landscaping can have the desired scenic impact...not to mention space for the car park as well!

I think the gov’t could consider buying out whoever owns that unsightly looking warehouse next door. It doesn’t fit in with the plans for a world-class convention centre and lowers the tone of the area! If they can acquire the ading land then they would have more than enough space for the hotel.

I think they have already reserved the space for the hotel. If you watch the video below, at 11:50, the commissioner stated what the reserved space was for. I think they are planning a multistorey hotel. Perhaps upwards of 5 floors so that international hotel franchises will be attracted to it due to the number of rooms. I am sure they will have enough space behind the building for a swimming pool.

Imaxdocument = internalauditor = general chino... Omelu abagworo..

Me i am even suspecting mktinsight is abagworo

@ bolded GBAMEST!!!
A few months ago, I personally compared mktinsight's grammar and Abagworo / JohnBullMyson's style in the Imo thread. They have a deep-seated hatred for Anambra and Anambra people, but they will always claim to come from a silly location that they don't even know the LGA it belongs in Anambra.
Then they try to hide their hatred by first blaming the Anambra's governor or its religious leaders or other Igbo leaders as though those are his real target. Then he will denigrate any progress or projects in Anambra by posting the picture of Paris, Washington DC, or Tokyo as what Awka should be. For example, he will prefer not to post Imo airport, but post London Heathrow airport as what Anambra airport should be. Meanwhile will not tell you that London is the capital of a superpower that colonized Nigeria. Besides, Abuja the national capital does not even come close to Aberdeen infrastructure-wise, but he demands that Awka which is a sub-national capital must look like London! cheesy

In between the lines of "suggesting the "standard" Anambra must sur", he will denigrate Anambra and her people while at the same time trying to gloss over the insults as being objective. Like saying no Anambra city has dual-carriage roads like Aba. While at the same time not mention that all the said roads in Aba are imable swamps! While you cannot find such roads in any Anambra city! He will tell you that Kano contributes more VAT than Anambra, but will not tell you that Kano receives double of what it contributes as VAT from the federation , but Anambra receives less than half of its so-called "little" contribution to VAT.

If you take time to do the comparison, you will see exactly the same manner of expression and building fake arguments by citing only beneficial data and leaving out glaring contrary data. As if everybody here is so brain dead that they would not notice the big gap they omitted in their usual mischievous writeup.
