@OP that thing you have; set of hinges with bolts and nuts is the convertion kit itself. All you need is a good beater who can get the right size tools (spanner, hex, etc) to carefully remove the doors (without scratching the paint on it or damaging the glass motor or central lock wiring) and then follow the simple instructions that came with the convertion kit and apply, so you can have the doors open vertically ( lambo style). |

Im not sure how much you would get it for but I just checked on the X5 and the 530 and found out that they both actually have the same LCD display (I'm assuming you are referring to the LCD below the Speedo). It will be easier (and cheaper) for you to tell them that you are looking for the LCD for a 2000 model 5 series than to tell them you want to buy the LCD for a BMW "JEEP" - that word will make them slam you with 5 times the regular asking price. At times they insist on selling the while clock assembly though. All the best. |

@OP I'm not sure how this will sound to you but it looks like an engine issue to me. I will advise you go for a scan first (that's if you don't have a scanner yourself) to find out what it says then you can it up from there. By the way I used to have the occasional jerking on mine initially but after a full service with Mobil 1 oil, it stopped. The solution to the LCD thing is to change that LCD display itself. You will get it at Ladipo. |

donkarly: I guess you have your strong opinion about the whole thing. |
![]() |
justwise: That Im 100% in sync with the OP and the article. |

@OP I think you should run very farfrom that person talking about changing an engine because of a missing (key?). Tow the vehicle to your house, get a good rewire, and have your car started. |

justwise: So also is half the "suicide" bombings going off all over the world. |

calaway: In my opinion, the poster is very correct and I have always suspected the incident as an effort for their Africom and an excuse to get into Nigeria. And by the way, you can find the missing Kenyan ape in DC |

That conversion kit comes with all the accessories needed PLUS a manual. You can call any good beater to come to your house (with they tools) and do it - that way he will be available for you to tell him what to do(and y'all reason it out together) and there will be none of the accessories missing (its very important they dont improvise anything for safety reasons. Also the manual tells you the required tools, usually very few and common. By the way, its easiest when the Lambo style doors are made specifically for your brand and model, the hindges are an easy fix. Removing the old one might be a challenge though, 'cos those things will be pretty tight. |

Kenya is really missing an ape

I think it will be proper IF this kind of move is made based on repeated adverts taking up memory space at the website's hosting server level. It is also possible to fish out repeated adverts and remove them (IF its really a bother - I have not really noticed much of this anyway), what I notice (which is very normal) is that dealers occasionally post a brief message or a reminder on the same thread just to bring it back up. Looking at the thread inspired_m started back there, in my opinion, its a very wrong move and appears more like a bias (I'm looking at it from the view point that he is a dealer too) There is nothing like "bulk" auto adverts, we want the whole of Berger online so we can make our choice and at the same time discuss issues relating to vehicles too. I think the division (which looks like a way of reducing chances of viewers seeing cars advertized by dealers with many cars) removes the whole essence of the Auto section. If there should be a new sub-board, I think it should be for foreign auction (live), pre-order, right-hand drive and foreign based salvage titled vehicles. That will be innovative and helpful to educate and give intending customers a broader view and variety of non-Nigerian located vehicles. I think this move should be reconsidered and someone like eghehibor should be allowed to sell and his cars in this section (he has an amazing database of cars at a very competitive pricing too) For me its a very wrong move. |

@OP Change the gear before it stops completely. Call Yinka on 080 2558 3908. Do not waste your time and money with repairs. Trust me, you should change it. |

@Kunle-A From my experience, there are two major causes; 1. Most times when we blow a fuse in our vehicles, our rewire guys do not replace the blown fuse with the exact rated fuse; they simply replace with an identical fuse (20A for a 5A for instance) OR they wrap flexible wires around both points on the fuse (these also does not in any way conform to any rating). What then happens is that in the case of a wiring fault, too much current is intruduced into the system (since the fuse wont cut) and in most cases heads straight for the brain. 2. The second thing is flooding and basically water on our roads touching or splashing on unprotected connectors or connections, this does serious damages too. |

My major problem out there is the seat belt and the $100 fine (its not funny at all) and too much monitoring. For me, Naija is king. |

@OP 1. The "Check Engine" light is an indicator that reflects the state or condition of the vehicle in question as detected by the vehicle's Electronic (and Engine) Control Unit (ECU). Its simply a detected fault indicator. The fault or condition detected and displayed can be as minor as your fuel tank cap/cover not well placed or tightened to something as major as a fault that can damage the vehicle if not fixed immediately. The best thing is to have the vehicle scanned (lots of scanner services on nairaland) to determine exactly what the problem is before the choice is made (if you are so bothered about it). Overall its a good thing to have in a vehicle but can be a very serious problem for the over-sensitive driver. 2. There are threads on nairaland that confirms the new age limit thing. |

Good you removed those.
|
![]() |
That was very careless of him though. I think its best he removes it immediately. That might be alcohol at work.

Ayusman, I didn't think it will come to this but you have ed the list of those that the best answer for is silence . . keep yapping.

![]() Nah. Tim is the big boy. He has shown that "money aint a thing". I like that, also glad you're doing the right thing. You might want to get a plot of land somewhere for now ( no where is too far). They come cheap when you have the cash. (property section) |
![]() |
You guys should stop disturbing this thread. Tim understands the logistics problem, waits and gets his car, German gets his balance and everyone is happy. Thats the whole aim and idea. Ayusman, you never arrive that level o! You and your babe talk. Basildon1, I feel you but I no know you. Sorry. |
![]() |
Tim, im glad you are growing up now. You are alright, im sure your ride will suit you. Ayusman, dont worry about me and dealers, It is what it is and I am who I am. Meanwhile, have you sold any of those cars you put up on nairaland? Maybe you shoukd have dealers like German run them off for you in days. Also you need to understand that when it comes to a buyers reputation; whatever I say or you say has nothing on what people who have paid the dealers Millions and have gotten their results. We are observers, they are THE participants. Anyways, we are all here to help and better ourselves - and im sorry but from my experience, its better to have a style, be on A track and to be very stable. I like Tim, he doesnt hide his feelings (its just him), my side to it is that those Achias he is buying there are cheaper on our holdups than out there for him. |
![]() |
The guy should actually have your name ![]() |
![]() |
![]() Siena, you dont want to get this guy's complex started again; next thing he will tell you he'll call you from his gold coated 3310. |
![]() |
Clown, as you can see, the main aim has been achieved; Tim is now "bornagain". Cut him some slack and lets celebrate his"liberation"
|
![]() |
![]() Tim I'm really glad you have seen the light and have decided to do the right thing. German is a real good guy and a trusted one at that. You'll love the life once you roll up in your Honda (after paying your balance and closing the deal as I trust you will of course) BUT what im not happy about with you is the bad example you are setting for children here. It appears all you are doing with daddy's money is buying those nylon wrapped afters. With what? Made in Bankok, Singapore? On them? This is where patience comes in; you should have waited till you get to Lagos, on most holdups, especially on falomo bridge, you will get those for about N700 each, that will help you save money for fuel and possible shaft repairs on your Honda. Thanks for your gifts though, cool looking out. I'm really not into those things BUT I wear an AP wristwatch, its been the same way since I bought it like 3 years ago. No tarnish, nothing and its my all day everyday wear. |

Tim, German has spoken and you should not have any issues. Sorry LV is not my fav. designer. Thats however not relevant with you paying your balance when your honda comes in. Ayusman, you dont have to try running someone else's name because you want to get into the Auto dealership business, It takes more than cheap talks to have an established name in that industry. And whats with the profile picture thing? I change that from time to time. Anyways, there are more important stuff to learn and gain here. I guess we can take a break here, until the car comes and we get the update IF needed. |
![]() |
So now that we are friends, you have to relax and wait for your Honda. So let me get the picture here; fresh from school where? (china?) in your 03 accord, with your LV kicks soft on the pedal, and your LV belt on your what? Rockawear pants?, just make sure they got the Louis Vuitton spelling right, you know chicks be checking that, and you know how this fake product people be messing with the original names. ![]() |
![]() |
I told you not to take it the wrong way. Your LV is definately fake, the real one has a gold lifetime warranty certificate for the buckle head. It comes in plat too though, and it costs more than the total for all those aftermarket level 3 kicks you have there. But I see your efforts though. |
![]() |
Ayusman, stop making noise, im having a conversation with Tim now. Your friend is a very mature person and the way he spoke with Banix with apologies for your childishness and denied knowledge of your internet claims. |
