My Itel 1516 Plus which I bought in August 2017 suddenly stopped working (in March 2018, Less Than 1 Year)!!!

I took it to their office in opebbi Ikeja (on 9th March, 2018) and was told it would be repaired FREE OF CHARGE (SINCE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY).

WENT BACK TODAY (14th March, 2018) and was told to pay #8,200 if i wanted it to work!!! (A phone I bought last year for #20,500)

THE MOST ABSURD OF ALL WAS WHEN I ASKED WHY I NEEDED TO PAY #8,200. The attendant responded that there was a little dent on the touch screen and that if the item was repaired, the touch screen WILL SPOIL grin grin grin. And that the cost was that of the touch screen!! VERY FUNNY REALLY...

Just to think of it that Itel, Techno and Infinix recently sent some Naija Tech Bloggers to China to SEE THEIR GREAT FACTORIES AND OTHER FACILITIES ( cool. RATHER THAN DO THIS, THEY SHOULD FOCUS ON BUILDING GREAT PRODUCTS LIKE XIAOMI, HUAWEI, MEIZU which are internationally acceptable brands!!!

I will be attaching proofs of my escapades with this CHINESE COMPANY swindling Nigerians. And I know many other Nigerians are in my shoes. Until we can actually ascertain the quality (and serviceability) of Itel, Techno & Infnix phones, I'll advice you STAY AWAY...

A responsible president would have visited a state where tragedy occurred...& many citizens died eg Benue &co. vs herdsmen , that is just one reason from 20 reasons why Nigerians hate Buhari

He sent representatives. Will his going there BRING ABOUT AN IMMEDIATE SOLUTION?

in Nigeria WE LIKE EYE SERVICE (HE SHOULD GO THERE LIKE MANY OTHER PRESIDENTS IN TIME PAST HAVE DONE BUT NOT ACTION)!!!

Sharing this as I go it too:

THE UNDISPUTED FACTS
His Offence.
.
PMB stopped over N2trillion subsidy payments to the almighty cabals.
He stopped the payment of over N30billion monthly salaries to 50,000 national ghost workers.
He withdrew the license of rice, salt, sugar etc from one individual and spread the license to various interested group of people so as to stop the issue of monopoly.
He ordered the enforcement of BVN in the banking industry which stopped the illicit fraud perpetrated by private and public officials.
He ordered the enforcement of TSA where a single government parastatal operated over 43 s siphoning funds without remittance to the Federation
He ordered the enforcement of payment and salaries of National Assembly to be done through TSA.
He stopped the importation of rice from Thailand which our leaders used to siphon billions of naira yearly
He blocked all the loop holes in the public sectors even though some avaricious Nigerians still cut their ways through sometimes.
He exposed the corrupt practices in the judiciary
He did same in the national assembly
He exposed them all in the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Army, Navy, Air force and prosecuted the corrupt officials involved.
He exposed Patience Jonathan N13b looted fund, N15b, N11b worth of hotel in Bayelsa, N2.5b laundered funds to her housemaids
He exposed Ikoyi's gate N13b NIA funds.
He exposed N4.7b Ekiti election fraud given to Fayose by Obanikoro
He exposed the $2.1b insurgency funds shared among Femi Fani Kayode, Olisah metuh, Bafarawa, Nduka Obaigbena, Raymond Dokpesi and others
He exposed the illicit dealings in the legislative house
He stopped the padding of our national budget by the National Assembly
He enforced the law to retrieve the N11b loan granted to Ben Murray Bruce which he refused to pay for 10years
He exposed our Christian community where N7b was shared to them for election campaign by Jonathan
He Enforced the EFCC to go after Ifeanyi Ubah who sold N11b worth of crude oil and pocketed same without the knowledge of NNPC
He Exposed Saraki undeclared assets/looted funds.
He stopped Intel(Atiku's Company) where trillions of Nigeria money was not remitted to the federation over the years
He exposed our unscrupulous leaders both in APC and PDP even if the law could not prosecute them because of the lacuna in our laws.
Through Nigeria Customs, FIRS, JAMB, NIMASSA, Nigeria was able to realize over trillions of Naira remitted to the federation ,the first in Nigeria history.
PMB refused to die.
He refused to be paralysed.
He refused to give up on Nigeria and Nigerians.
They spread false reports against him, God exposed their lies.
They did everything, they found nothing to pin him down with especially on corruption.
.
Why would they not hate him?
Why would they not wish him dead?
Why would they not spread false reports against him?
Those who never benefitted anything from the national looters are always right behind defending those who put them in their sorry states.
Curse him, wail, cry, shout, grumble, fumble, hate and even jump into the biggest ocean...he who God has blessed, no man can curse.
You prefer the devil and I prefer PMB, the God sent, the choice is mine.
.
As for the right thinking individuals, we shall eat from the fruits of our labour and as for you town cryers, may it be permanent in your life

l have followed this thread for few months now and I am learning daily from everyone especially Ogunvic4 and Romeo3, I am discussing with my business partners in the West to see how l can invest in the business in Nigeria, from what I have read here, l think they are promoting the use of Peugeot 407 based on cheap maintenance, cheap parts, the ruggedness of the Peugeot and also some bit of luxury associated with the brand, Nigeria roads are terrible, I used an American Suv during my visit few years ago, l bought the vehicle myself in North America and shipped it to lagos with other cars, although it was a strong Suv but I know what I spent in changing the shock absorbers and several other wheel associated components due to bad roads, flood during raining season etc, I have not used Peugeot before but I think from what Ogunvic4 and Romero 3 are saying on here, it might be a good brand to use considering the terrible roads we have in Nigeria, l am already tilting towards using the Peugeot fleet once I am ready with my partners and I will meet Romeo 3 and his friend and see how l can do business with them, using a luxury car for Uber in Nigeria is not advisable because our roads are bad, I have seen Latest Suv and even a labroghini been used as a rental car in the Middle East when I visited several times during vacation but I am not surprised because they have fantastic roads unlike what we have in the jungle called Nigeria grin

You've definitely made some good points... ARE THE ROADS THAT UBER DRIVERS MOSTLY PLY (ISLAND/MAINLAND) THAT BAD?

In my opinion ITS MOSTLY ABOUT WHAT GIVES MOST PROFIT (CHEAP MAINTENANCE, CHEAP PARTS, CHEAP CARS).

Will these cars qualify for UberSelect, UberBlack, UberSUV etc... if ever Uber introduces this in Nigeria.

What happens to these cars if Uber Policies changes on Vehicle Acceptance... Riders complaining already that UBER CARS ARE MOSTLY 'KABUKABU'

Watching to see what happens to this Peugeot business model 6 months from now, by then, should be well tested.... By the way I'm also an investor...

All the shouting and arguing about which vehicle between Peugeot and Corolla works best boils down to

1. choice of the
2. parts availability and cost
3. Resale value
4. Reliability over time.
And many many u can think of....

That parts are cheaper from one from to another boils down to DEMAND ...if demand for Peugeot parts increase, price will increase ....

But best way to shut down the argument is bring a 407 and a Corolla (both refurbished to 95% state), put them on the road and compare reliability, efficiency amongst others ... but also note all cars not built same way ....

Every one loves a Corolla....

Investment wise which will you go for considering all other factors

Very sensible point... I particularly like point 3 (resale value)... What happens if POLICY CHANGES...

Can you buy and maintain an electric vehicle in Nigeria?

Guess you are his partner... That's not the point bro... The point is BE INNOVATIVE, DON'T LIVE IN THE PAST...

Peugeot 406 was been replaced by 407 (Production 1995–2004)
Peugeot 407 has been replaced by 508 (Production 2004–2010)

Sure the reasons you're going for these vehicles IS BECAUSE IT ENRICHES YOUR POCKET AS FLEET MANAGERS, NO MORE OR LESS.

(By the Way, people use electric Vehicles in Nigeria already....)

Watching to see where your business goes with this kind of attitude... Not everyone who criticizes is an hater, APPRECIATE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS...

One striking thing I have observed on here is that Nigeria seems to be the only Uber market where certain people believe that only deadbeat ugly-looking peugeot cars can survive. I have visited Kenya and Uganda several times, and 90% of the cars used over there for uber are decent-looking Toyota corollas. It seems there is such an obsessive push on here for people to dump their decent cars in favour of decaying peugeots on the premise that ''they are the best for Nigerian roads''. I have heard someone 'advice' a car owner to sell his decent looking car in favour of an ugly scrap peugeot. I don't think this is right.

I'm not even comparing Nigeria with other western countries, we are comparing it with fellow African countries. Plus, just because someone has been driving on Uber for a while simply doesn't give that person any sense of entitlement over a newbie. Uber doesn't need any experience, you simply start the app and drive the number of hours you feel obliged to. At the end of the week, you are paid in line with whatever bonus offers are available. The location you need to be is already highlighted on the app itself by its 'boost' feature, there is no rocket science about it.

I have been a silent reader on this page for a while and have been carefully observing the antics of some people, but let me just stop here. I think we should give kudos to Uber for taking a lot of people out of unemployment, these are the same people speaking with a false sense of entitlement just because they have managed to taste a few pennies in Naira. Drivers should consider themselves lucky to be in Nigeria where car owners give them there cars without an initial deposit, in most other countries, you pay a fixed weekly fee UPFRONT to lease the car.

Thanks for this great statement. I had been wondering why they chose Peugeot 406 & 407. In many other countries, better vehicles are used. I presume "ITS TO ENRICH THEIR POCKETS". Makes me wonder if the automobile sector is actually moving forward or backwards (a time when many other nations are implementing Electric Vehicle Policies)...
