sorry I can't really say which one is better as I believe they are unique differently. For ex. OGP pays for your Visa Screen while Avant doesn't except when they are on promo. I also believe there might be other incentives from Avant that OGP lacks.

One thing is sure for OGP, their speed. My wife applied to OGP March 01, 2017, sat and ed her nclex in the US in October and her I-140 was also filed in October. It must not be Avant or OGP, nurses should try to explore other agencies as well.

Yes, I've come with good news. It has been officially confirmed that my beloved wife ed her NCLEX exam. I'm overwhelmed with joy. It can only be God. A lot of sacrifices were made, but it all paid off at last.

My wife had applied for a b1/b2 visa in December 2105 and was granted together with my daughter when we all wanted to travel to the States for a vacation, but due to some contingencies we were unable to travel as planned.

Presently, as a Nurse, she plans to sit for NCLEX exam in the US and wanted to know if there's any other type of visa that will be required for the exam or can she still make use of her b1/b2 visa having in mind that her initial plan was for a vacation and not for exam.

Would there be issues at point of entry? Please advise.

OGP's contract is for 4160 hours (2 years) while Avant's contract is for 6240 hours. With OGP, you will have to work for at least 40 hours a week to complete the contract in 2 years. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week does not count towards the contract hours but you will get the applicable pay. Chances of completing the contract in less than 2 years is almost impossible.
Avant's contract is in two parts. The first part is 4160 hours and the second part is 2080 hours. On completion of the first part, you have to option to convert to a full time staff of the hospital where you are assigned. On conversion, the second part of the contract does not come into being. However, if you do not convert, Avant will assign you to another facility to complete the 2080 hours.
Being a full-time staff of the hospital makes you eligible for benefits like better health insurance coverage for you and your family, better pay, better time-offs, better retirement plans etc.
The best part of the Avant contract is that all hours worked count towards the the contract hours. For example, I completed 2080 hours in less than ten months. By the grace of God, I'll complete 4160 hours in less than 2 years.
Finally, with Avant, you do not pay anything towards your NCLEX-RN review program. Avant also has a unique transition program that prepares you to adapt quickly to life in the US.

@ pameltariro, It all depends on you as regards to which of the agents you would want to work with. Yes, she paid $200 for her Kaplan NCLEX review classes which has been going on smoothly. OGP contract is for 2 years while Avant is 3 years.

What most people fail to comprehend is that you can't do without IELTS. Irrespective of the State you intend to practice, you must prove to a consular officer at the US Consulate in Lagos that you've met all the general requirement for EB3 visa, simply put as immigrant visa/green card. CGFNS Certification+IELTS= Visascreen, also, CGFNS CES+ NCLEX+IELTS= Visascreen. In fact, when you come for a visa interview at the Consulate, the consular officer would be interested to see Visascreen certificate before he/she can make a decision to grant/deny a visa application.
The only way you can escape having IELTS result is by visiting the US with a B1/B2 visa and subsequently enroll for nclex, and change your status while in the US.

Why limit yourself to a few state probably 5 States out of the 50 States in the USA when you can freely expand your horizon by just having an IELTS result. Other states like Florida, California and Washington DC do not require IELTS result too, but you wouldn't know about other conditions until you start processing with them. For example, Florida board does not require IELTS and SSN before NCLEX but, your license will not be issued without SSN. How did I know? My wife used Florida board for her CES and when she got an agent that's sponsoring and preparing her now for NCLEX exam they told her that Florida board has many issues and they are expensive too.

Presently, She's enrolled with Minnesota board for her NCLEX exam with only $105 fee.

Please feel free to correct me if you feel that what I put up there was wrong.

Finally, based on my years of research on Nurses's immigration to the Western World, America has the lowest English language requirement for foreign educated nurses unlike, the UK, Scotland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. So why can't you utilize the opportunity now to move on. Besides, on my research too, Nurses in the US are better paid than anywhere in the world that's why you see nurses from the UK and Canada migrating to the US. A Philippine nurse in the US said she earns 3 times her salary in the US than when she was in the UK.

Just trying to make a common sense.

She's yet to do that. She's scheduled for April pre-nclex preparatory class that will last for 5 months before sitting for the exam. She might be writing in the US as she already has a valid visa to the US.

For CGFNS evaluation, all the information required are found on their website. The fee is $350 for CES report. I would advice you should concentrate on studying for the IELTS exam first as some recruitment agency like Avant can offer to bear the cost of your CGFNS evaluation on your behalf.
Some of my friends with Avant that didn't have the CES report before ing Avant were processed at the expense of Avant.

O'grady peyton as I learnt can also bear the cost of your CGFNS evaluation as soon as you have your IELTS. To be frank with you, ing the IELTS exam is the major stumbling block here. Just the exam and see how recruitment agencies will in touch with you. But should you decide to do it yourself as my wife did, after creating an on CGFNS portal and making a payment, a CGFNS ID number will be assigned to you and forms that you will send to your nursing school/s you attended together with the one to be sent to nursing & midwifery council in Abuja will be generated.

I can't really recall how much my wife paid at the nursing council then but ensure you go there with at least 15 to 20k to include postage. While it depends on the nursing school attended, my wife's school charged less than 10k for transcript and she paid 12k then for postage (i.e DHL or FEDEX).It didn't stop there, as CGFNS will still the school to the authenticity of the transcript sent to them and you still have to pay for the postage to send it back. I think in my wife's case, she paid for postage 3 times for each nursing school attended. In a nutshell, I would advice you set aside between 100 to 150k to accomplish this.

I've taken my time to read through what must people have put so far, and I must say they're commendable. Permit me to say a little I know about Nurse's transition to the US, Canada, and Australia. Of the three countries, the US has the least requirement for English language proficiency.

The US requirement for IELTS exam is Speaking 7.0, and overall average score of 6.5, while Canada and Australia, you must have 7 in speaking, reading, writing and listening. There's no short cut for that.
To the best of my knowledge,ing the IELTS/TOEFL exam is the most excruciating and challenging hurdles that most Nigerian Nurses fear to face, and lest I forget, you MUST either of these exams in order to obtain a Visascreen after sitting for either nclex-RN exam or the CGFNS exam.

Never mind, let me go straight to the point. If you a Nigerian Nurse that intends or has an intent to migrate to the US to practice, this is what you need to do before ing any recruitment agency.

1. Have an international port for yourself and family who are less than 21 years of age (i.e if you are married).
2. Have your nursing diploma/degree evaluated by the CGFNS.( this can take up to one year or less)
3. Sit and either IELTS or TOEFL exams.
4. a recruitment agency.

Someone would ask, how did you know all these? Ok, let me tell how, my wife is a ed nurse, she has her RN from one of the nursing schools in Enugu state, had her RM and BSN from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Yes, she did her CGFNS CES report and choose Florida board as h the state she would like to practice, and the report says her basic RN is comparable to the completion of a first -level general (ed) nurse diploma program in the United States while, her BSC/BSN from UNN is comparable to the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the United States. She started the process in October 2015 and the report was issued on September 2016. You see, it took almost 1 year to achieve that. Mind you, her transcripts were sent from both the basic nursing school and also from UNN. This project requires both time, calls and finances.

IELTS, the nightmare exam. I called it nightmare because my wife never like the exam. You know what? She had to sit for this exam 3 times, yes you heard me right, 3 times. The first time was on the 19 June, 2016 and her scores were Listening 7.5, reading 7.5, writing 7.5 and speaking 6.5. The second time was in November 19, 2016 and her scores were, listening 7, reading 6, writing 7.5 and speaking 6.5. In fact, on the second time she cried when she went for her result because she thought she did well. Now the third time was on the 11 February, 2017 and she made Listening 6.5, reading 6.0, writing 6.0 and speaking 7.0. Whao at last she made it, and met the US IELTS english requirement of Speaking 7.0 and overall band score of 6.5.

Recruitment agency, as it stands now, the agency that accepts Nigerian nurses in the USA that I know are port USA, Avant healthcare professional and O'grady Peyton international. As for port USA, they can only assist if you've written and ed either CGFNS exam or Nclex-rn exam, while Avant and O'grady peyton will not only accept you but would also help you to prepare for the Nclex-rn exam on one condition.
What's the condition? You will be tested/given a pre-screening exam for both english language proficiency(when you applied without english result) and basic nursing questions. When you the tests, a skype interview will be set up to ascertain your clinical experience and skills. If you are successful, a contract will be sent to you to sign and other things follow.
In the contract, Avant says you will work for them for 3 years while O'grady peyton says 2 years. Of course, the class of visa that will be issued to you and your immediate family if you are married is EB3 visa which is a green card.

My wife is presently with O'grady Peyton international after ing their 50 questions test in 1 hour 15 minutes and subsequent skype interview. Trust me these guys are professionals.Their response to mails are exceptional and always willing to help.
