I don't think I'd say one is better than the other.
I love classical music. Like you said, it's sophisticated.

On the other hand I rarely listen to rap (unless I'm at a place where that's all thats been played or on the radio).
I'll listen to clean rap any day though.

You're making me think of coming back to nairaland.

What is Love?

Oh, let me not speaketh eloquently of a thing I knoweth not.
For to me, it is easier to say "I need you" than to say I love you.
I need you for this and I need you for that.

Whatever Love may be,
I know It shouldn't hurt.
I know it is incomplete without money, today.
I know it shouldn't build one up and then break one down.
I know it shouldn't leave one wanting.
I know it shouldn't betray the ever trusting heart
I like this poem, except the line in bold.

Your last poem I'll call it rapoetry (it's like a mix of rap and poetry).
Nice.

Ezenwenyi:

SMILING NAIRALANDERS

O Great landers
People of wonders
Bringing joy to the founders
Crying for the words
In the land of Naira
The great talent of the chosen
Far in the east with the stubborn sunset
People of Great thinking
The state of the nation
The crying masses and the future
Oh!Great landers!
Oh!Great poets!
Oh!Great generation
Smiling with the naira!
The smiling landers!
Fly!Fly!Fly, And land in Naira

Absolutely lovely!

Hi Franc, for me it is a poem sha. Since I often don't understand poems or just tiny aspects of them, yours very much qualifies as one to me! wink But joke aside, I get that you are feeling blue right now. cry Let me tell you that life has more colours than just one and that you'll reach the bright/warm side of the palette again. Until then, we're here for you. If you wish we can cry or we can footle with you. Nilla, Macalurs, isn't that true? Franc's not allone. Dear Franc, take care! *hug*

Yes he's not alone.

*double hugs*

Easyy:

I believe it's the people.

When we, as a people, are fed up of being rubbished by the so-called political class and we decide to firmly end the oppression, it will be done.

I think we still have many of us feeding on the crumbs from the tables of thieving policians hence there is no great desire and willpower to effect changes to the way we are governed. We are also quite a greedy lot. When we are given the opportunity to steal, we forget the fact that there are millions of others suffering as a result of the fact that we are stealing public funds.

Yes, the leaders are absolutely irresponsible but you cannot absolve the public of some share of the blame. Most people are looking for 'fast bucks', no matter the illegality of the means of making such fast bucks.

I whole heartedly concur with you, because I believe Nigerians are why Nigeria isn't working, and it will take Nigerians too to get Nigeria working. . .
And until Nigerians quit complaining and understand this, we are stuck.
nilla(f): 12:59am On Jan 06, 2007
and you've never heard "Ibibio" before
nilla(f): 12:43am On Jan 06, 2007

nilla(f): 12:39am On Jan 06, 2007
